of peaceful stretches so there is plenty of time to gaze the scenery and admire the bird life.
The trekking on this trip is relatively easy and for all abilities and ages. The highest point on your trip will
be 2,000 meters so there are no concerns of being affected by altitude. You will walk through rice terraces,
forests and villages, soaking up the culture and scenery as you go. In the jungle you will wake to the
sounds of birds and elephants and, enjoy a full programme of activities including jungle walks, elephant
back safaris and bird watching trips. Kathmandu is justifiably one of the must visit cities of the world. Full
of colour, noise, people and endlessly surprising. We will take you on a tour to see all of the sights
including Pashupatinath Temple, Durbar Square and Swayambhu, as well as those hidden spots only the

HIGHLIGHTS OF NEPAL
DAY 8
Day in Pokhara
Pokhara lies at just 850 meters yet peaks of over
8,000 meters rise above it in a breath-taking
panorama. This is the perfect place to relax and
rest weary limbs after a trek. Alternatively there
are lots of activities that you can do here—
fishing, paragliding, golf or bird watching.
OvernightFishtail Lodge, Pokhara
DAY 9
Raft & Travel to Chitwan
We will leave Pokhara in the morning after
breakfast and drive for around 3 hours until we
reach the Trisuli river. The river is graded 3, the
rapids are straight forward and easily negotiated
but also lots of fun. Some stretches of the river
are peaceful, here you can sit back and enjoy the
scenery of rice terraces, villages and forests.
Once we arrive at Mugling we will leave the river
and our raft behind and start on our one hour
drive to Chitwan National Park. After our
welcome in the afternoon we should have time
for a jungle activity, possibly a walk or an
elephant back safari. Following that we will have
dinner at the lodge.
OvernightChitwan Jungle Lodge is an eco lodge located
in a secluded spot in the forest and built in a
traditional style from local materials. It is a
comfortable lodge with en-suite facilities that
uses solar power to heat water. The focus here is
on the environment and the wildlife.

DAY 12
Onward Travel
We will transfer you by private car to Kathmandu
Airport in plenty of time for your flight .
Our tours in Nepal can be tailor made for you.We aim to be entirely flexible with ouritineraries. Our trekking team will work withyou to create an itinerary that is perfect foryou. Please just give us a call, we are itchingto have a chat about this wonderful country.
Trekking Extensions: You may wish to add on
trekking days or change the route slightly, this is
no problem. For example if you wanted to trek
into the Annapurna Sanctuary (4,130m) you
would add on 5 trekking days and go a slightly
different route.
Kathmandu Hotel: We are happy to share our
knowledge about accommodation in Kathmandu
or indeed book anywhere that you already have
in mind. The most luxurious heritage hotel in
Kathmandu is Dwarikas, we can book this for you
if you fancy really treating yourselves.
Festivals: Ask us about festivals in Nepal as
depending on when you are travelling we may
be able to incorporate one of Nepal’s colourful
festivals into this or a similar itinerary. The
Nepali New Year (Bisket Jatra) is celebrated over
a 9 day period in April in Bhaktapur which is an
hour from Kathmandu. This is a really lively
festival where chariots are pulled through the
streets.
Local Flights: It is possible to fly back from
Bharatpur (Chitwan) to Kathmandu on this
itinerary. If you would like to do this please just
ask one of our experienced team for a revised
quotation. Also if you do not wish to take the
short flight to Pokhara it is possible to drive this
section, it takes around 6 hours.
When to Go
The trekking season in Nepal extends from mid-
September to May. The ideal times to visit are
October to December when the post monsoon
mountain air is clear and fresh, or February to
April when the climate remains dry and pleasant
and the famous rhododendrons grow and bloom.
December to February is the Nepali winter, the
days are cool to mild and clear but the nights can
be bitterly cold at the higher points and winter
storms can bring snow.
Grade
This holiday is graded moderate which makes it
perfect for regular walkers, some days will be
more challenging than others and the terrain will
be varied with some rough and rugged footpaths.
There are many uphill and downhill sections
involved so a good level of fitness will be
required. The high point of the trek is 2,000
meters so you are unlikely to experience altitude
sickness.
Accommodation
While on trek (4 nights) you will stay in traditional
Nepali Guesthouses, these are traditional
mountain lodges operated by local people. The
lodges have a comfortable central living and
eating room which is heated and individual twin

share bedrooms. Toilets and washing facilities
are shared, hot showers may be available at an
additional charge at some lodges.
Whilst in Kathmandu this itinerary is based on a
stay in a twin or double room at the deluxe Hotel
Shanker or Hotel de l’ Annapurna both are
opposite the Royal Palace within 5 minutes walk
of the busy tourist area of Thamel (3 nights). Of
course we are happy to advise you about other
hotels or book anything that you request. In
Pokhara (2 nights) we love to use Fishtail Lodge
which has stunning views and is located on a
island on the lake. In the jungle you will stay in
the heart of the national park in comfortable
bungalows with en-suite facilities at Chitwan
Jungle Lodge (2 nights).
Meals
On this tour all meals are included except for
lunch and dinner in Kathmandu & Pokhara. You
should allow £10-15 per person per day for lunch
and dinner.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included while on
trek as well as tea and coffee at meals. Food
while on trek is good. Pancakes, bread and
cereal form the basis for breakfast, lunch is
normally a warming noodle soup at a convenient
tea house on the trail and the evening staple dish
while trekking is dal bhaat, this is a filling dish of
lentil soup, rice and curried vegetables.
Equipment
While trekking you will only have to carry a day
bag containing water, snacks, spare clothes and
your camera. Your main bag will be moved by a
porter. We ask you to limit your luggage to one
bag of up to 15kg per person. It is possible to
leave some luggage at your hotel in Kathmandu.
We will supply you with a detailed equipment list
as part of your pre-departure information pack.
You will need normal walking and travelling gear
as well as a sleeping bag and warm clothes.
Trekking equipment is available to hire in

Nepali guides are fully qualified and trained. All

culture, food, flora and fauna of the Himalayas.
