1. Minimum qualifications for teaching posts for all advertised subjects

1.1.PROFESSORScale of pay : Rs. 37400-67000 AGP Rs. 10,000

A (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplineand published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence ofpublished work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

(ii) A minimum often years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience inresearch at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience ofguiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, andtechnology- mediated teaching learning process.

1.3. ASSISTANT PROFESSORScale of pay : Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6,000

(i) Good academic record with at least 550/0 marks ( or an equivalent grade in a point scalewherever grading system is followed) at the Master's Degree level in a relevant subjectfrom an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the NationalEligibility Test ( NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by theUGC like SLET/SET.

(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) above candidates, who are,or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University GrantsCommission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree)Regulations, 2009 or fulfilling the conditions as laid down by the University GrantsCommission Gazette notification 2010 and subsequent amendment July, 2016 shall beexempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SETfor recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in the University.

(iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master Programmes in disciplines forwhich NET /SLET /SET is not conducted.

(v) For Direct recruitment of assistant professor in the University, weightages to beconsidered for selection along with other specified eligibility qualification shall be asstipulated in the UGC regulations 2010 and subsequently amendment in 2016. Interviewcriterion, out of 100 points, shall be as follows:

(a) Academic record and research performance: 50%(b) Assessment of domain KNOWLEDGE and teaching skills: 30%(c) Interview performance : 200/~

Notes:(i) Summary of the Academic performance indicators (APIs) will be prepared strictly

as per UGC Regulations Gazette Notification dated 18-09-2010 amended up to11-07-2016. Candidates must enclose the supporting documents regarding thejustification of their APIs score failing which their APIs score will not beconsidened.

(ii) A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master's level for theScheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visuallydifferently-abled)/ other backward classes (aBC) (Non-Creamy Layer) categoriesfor the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during directrecruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or anequivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and therelaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on onlythe qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.

(iii) The minimum requirements of a good academic record, 55% marks (or anequivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at themaster's level and qualifying in the National Eligibility Test (NET), or anaccredited test (State Level Eligibility Test-SLET/SET), shall remain for theappointment of assistant professor.

(iv) . A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 500/0 of the marks to the Ph.D.Degree holders, who have obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19 September,1991 .

(v) Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the gradingsystem is followed by a recognized university shall also be considered eligible.

(vi) The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for the appointment ofProfessor.

(vii) The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for all candidates to beappointed as Associate Professor.

(viii) The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phi!. and/or Ph.D. Degreeshall not be considered as teaching/research experience to be claimed forappointment to the teaching position.

General Instructions to the Candidates

1. Applications can be submitted by Registered Post/Speed Post to the office of the Registrar,Vikram University, Ujjain on or before 31.08.2018 up to 5.30 P.M.2. The minimum qualifications for appointment shall be as per UGC regulations gazette notification

dated 18-09-2010 amended up to 11.07.2016.3. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.4. Eligibility of a candidate and satisfaction of any other Short-listing criteria shall be considered as

on the last date of the receipt for application.5. Relaxation of 50/0marks (from55% to 50%) will be provided at the Master' level in case of

SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) candidates for the post of Assistant Professor.6. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 550/0wherever the grading system is followed

by a recognized University shall be considered eligible.7. The Ph.D. Degree shall be a mandatory qualification for all candidates to be appointed as

Professor and Associate Professor through direct recruitment.8. The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M. Phil, and/or Ph.D. Degree shall not be

considered as teaching/research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teachingpositions.

9. The candidature for the post of Associate Professor and/or Professor shall not be considered ifthey do not enclose their application in the prescribed format with duly filled Performance BasedAppraisal System (PBAS) proforma.

10. Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.11. The University will not be responsible for postal delay in delivering the application form to

the candidates.12. Application incomplete in any respect, without substantial proof of statement/information filled

in application form shall not be considered.13. No deletion or alteration will be permitted in the application form after submission.14. The university shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at any time, at

the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that thedocuments submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestineantecedent/background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her service shall beterminated.

15. The university reserves the right not to fill up any advertised posts if the circumstances sowarrant. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be filled up fromthe available candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change.

16. In case of any advertent mistakes in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stageeven after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidates.

17. In the case of dispute, ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of theUniversity shall be final.

18. Applicant who are in employment should route their application through proper channel.19. Candidates should send self attested copies of certificates and marks sheets from matriculation

onwards in support of their qualifications. Originals should not be send along the application butthese must be produced at the time of interview.

20. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least theminimum essential qualifications laid down in the advertisement.

21. No correspondence will be entertained from candidate regarding postal delays, conduct and resultof interview and reasons for not being called for interview.

24. The rules ofUGC and Govt. of M.P. in regard to Pay & Allowances, Leave, Pension and P.F.shall be followed subject to amendments if any, from time to time.

25. The Selection Committee may decide its own method of evaluating the performance of thecandidates in interview.

26. When the selection committee considers it fit to recommend. a higher initial payor advanceincrements to be offered to a selected candidate, it may do so giving reasons there-for.

27. Number of posts advertised may be treated as tentative. The university shall have the right toincrease/decrease the number and/or nature of posts at the time of selection and makeappointment accordingly. Separate application for each post is required.

28. The prescribed qualifications and experience will be minimum and the mere fact that a candidatepossessing the same will not entitle him for being called for interview. The University will havethe right to restrict the candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basisof qualifications and experience higher that the minimum prescribed or by any other conditionthat may deem fit.

29. In case of any disputes any suites or legal proceeding against the University, the jurisdiction!shall be restricted to the M.P. High Court Bench at Indore oftheUniversity.
