AECHF is an independent Palestinian non-governmental organization established in 1997 by French-speaking and French nationals living in Hebron with the objectives to promote cultural dialogue and exchanges, to develop the French language in the Hebron district, to promote the heritage and awareness of the reality of daily life in of the Hebron district and to provide social assistance to needy families and recreational activities for children in H2 area (under Israeli control).
In 2007, AECHF launched the alternative tourism program and has since trained 11 young local guides, most of them being women. The aim is to discover the hidden treasures and understand the political situation of the Hebron district and to help promote respect, understanding and exchange between local communities and foreign visitors. AECHF seeks to contribute to the touristic, cultural and economic development of Hebron city and villages in the district through this program.AECHF proposes an original way to discover the Hebron heritage area and its inhabitants hospitality by offering unique tours in English, French and Arabic as well as accommodation for families.AECHF published a guidebook entitled, Hebron: history, culture and tourism, which is available in English and French. It is dedicated to Hebron's old city and interesting sites within the district.
We offer different theme tours accompanied by a local guide for a half day, full day or multiple days that can be arranged to meet specific requests. -The Old City (the market souk, Abraham mosque, Mameluk quarters);
Visit the beautiful traditional handicrafts workshops and factories;
Meet members of social, cultural, and political associations in Hebron and its vicinity; Explore the social and political situation from a local perspective; Tour sites around Hebron, including archeological sites, villages and beautiful landscapes
Stay in homes with families and experience the local daily life
