BUSINESS NEEDS Existing program of record radios and systems cannot provide the high-capacity throughput, mobility, or flexibility that is organic to 4G/LTE cellular systems. Lociva 4G/LTE systems have proven to be a best-of-breed LTE system able to scale from supporting small-team sized elements to larger forward operating base level sites. SOLUTION To address this issue, 4k Solutions has partnered with Lociva, the premier provider of deployable 4G/LTE nodes, to tailor and build a package able to easily transported, installed, and operated on an aerial platform or ground based facility. This concept was tested and validated using a PC-12 aircraft. 4K and Lociva engineers where able to configure and install the node into the aircraft in less that 4 hours and immediately fly multiple missions and transmit 4G/LTE at 60 watts from various altitudes up to 13,000 ft. The node was able to support numerous users – the test involved approximately 10 devices but the MACRONET is capable of supporting up to 400 simultaneous data-sessions. The node was flawlessly operated by a former Army Ranger communications specialist with a mere 3 hours of training on the LTE system. This validated the ease of use in installing, operating and maintain- ing aspect of employment. Over the course of testing, devices were able to move upwards of 10 km away from the orbit of PC-12 and were still able to connect to the MACRONET to pull full-motion video feeds being pushing from the PC-12 and simultaneous- ly also send and receive positional data, text files, route information and high resolution still- frame pictures.

BENEFITS: Ease of Implementation The Lociva suite of deployable 4G/LTE nodes can be easily employed with little to no set up time, with an “instant on” capability that cannot be reviled.
