This snapshot provides an overview
of the balance of trade between
Inbound and Outbound Travel for
Year end of September 2018.
It uses information provided by the
Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
Overseas Arrivals and Departures
(OAD) data set.

the trade between each country
is balanced and this snapshot
tracks overall benefits to each
country.
The countries chosen are the
major Australian source markets
and desired destinations.

• South Korea recorded largest
decrease when comparing

Key Highlights
• During September 2018, short-
term resident returns (917,600
movements) decreased 2.1%
when compared with August
2018 (937,300 movements).
• This followed monthly increases
of 0.8% for July 2018 and 1.6%
for August 2018.
• All months in 2018, except for
February demonstrate positive
growth when compared to the
same month in 2017.
