• Make sure you are prepared– pencil, paper, notebook or binder– assignments that are due

• Enter the room quietly.

• Go to your assigned seat.

• Get out your materials needed for class.

• Stash everything else under your desk.

• Begin working on the Warm Up – posted on the board every morning

• Keep all Warm Ups in your science journal– Follow directions CAREFULLY– ALWAYS date your work– ALWAYS answer questions in complete

sentences

• When you finish, wait quietly for further directions

• Give the teacher your full attention– No talking, not even a whisper– No pencil sharpening

• If you have questions…– Raise your hand AND wait to be called on– Questions should be related to the subject

• Take notes– Copy down key words and main ideas– DO NOT write down everything

During Activity/Lab InstructionsDuring Activity/Lab Instructions

• Only the teacher should be talking– Pay close attention, taking notes as needed

• Ask about any unclear instructions– Raise your hand and wait to be called on

• If you are still uncertain– Be as SPECIFIC as possible about what you

do not understand.

• Never start an activity if you are not sure what to do

• Read ALL the instructions FIRST– If you have a question ask a student nearby– If you still do not understand, raise your hand– If you are ASKED, be polite and helpful

• Talking should be no more than a whisper– Others are trying to work too

• Use your time wisely– Do your best and finish on time

• Clean up your area– All garbage should be in the trash can– Any supplies used should be returned – All supply areas should be neat and orderly

• Turn in any assignments due that day.• Gather all your belongings and remain in

your seat until you are dismissed.• Remember, the bell doesn’t dismiss you…

missed anything

• If the assignment is supposed to be turned in do so.

• Read quietly or work on something for another class.

• Wait quietly at the teacher’s desk.

• When asked, explain yourself or provide a pass.

• Go to your seat when you are given permission.

• If you have missed any assignments– You will NOT be excused from them– Get them from a classmate

• Check the top drawer of the orange filing cabinet– Assignments will be in a folder with your name– Get the notes missed from a classmate

• If you missed a test, talk to Mr. Williams at the END of class

• School policy will apply to missed work– Work from unexcused absences CANNOT be

made up
