GCC (Gulf States) will enforce new requirements for motorcycles as from July 2014.

GSO Meeting held at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 8th 2013 :

• Common GSO conformity certificate (Based on relevant Gulf Technical Regulations)

• GSO conformity certificates implementation from July 1st 2014.

• GSO Member Countries : UAE, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait

Manufacturer - submit Test Report in GSO format

• GSO will accept the regulations of the country of production including ECE, FMVSS and Japan applied until end of June 2015.

• From 1st July 2015, GSO will accept only the country of origin regulations (JAPAN for JAMA manufacturers) including ECE & FMVSS.

• GSO is going to extend application period to four months from 1st of July 2014.

SIAM discussed this issue with MoC (Ministry of Commerce) to confirm the following requirements of GSO :

1. Country of Origin Equivalent Regulation : Indian Regulation shall be allowed.2. Country of Production includes India as well.

SIAM informs the details to Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Govt. of India.

Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia shall arrange meeting with GSO

SIAM shall discuss the matter of accepting Indian Regulation for above

points
