In response to the alarming lack of knowledge and appropriate services for adults living with ASD, the Ontario Working Group was created in spring 2014

We are leaders in the ASD field, clinicians and researchers in adult mental health, and representatives from professional clinical organizations across Ontario.

On October 22, 2014 we held an all-day conference—Mental Health and Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Forging Responses to a Marginalized Population

We are in the process of developing reference, training and web-based materials for clinicians and in partnership with CAMH’s PORTICO Network and at: www.adultasd.ca

Our 2nd conference will be held February 26, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency in Toronto. Featured speakers include:

• Dr. Fred R. Volkmar, Irving B. Harris Professor of Child Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Psychology at the Yale University Child Study Center, School of Medicine

• Dr. Peter Szatmari, Chief of the Child and Youth Mental Health Collaborative between CAMH, the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto

• Dr. Christopher McDougle, Director of the Lurie Center for Autism
