Where are you?

The Agile Market in 2015

Looking for a RESET

Looking a stabilizing boost

Looking for an improvement boost

* Based on our perception and our friends in the worldwide community

The Glass Ceiling

•  Agile done well should SHOW you.

•  Many organizations are just STARTING to SEE

Breaking the glass ceiling using the TOUGHER aspects of agile…

•  E2E Agility (Not an agile team within a waterfall release/program)

•  Real Product Owner •  Agile Design/Coding Practices (XP style) •  Real Feature Teams •  Different approach to leading teams •  Flatter Organizations

Scaling? How many people are working on a typical agile release/program/product in your organization?

<10 10-30 30-100

>100

For those who answered > 10 :

How do you do it?

New in 2015

We implement The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

or something very similar

We watched the Spotify movies and used that as inspiration

We read Larman&Vodde and are doing LeSS – Large Scale Scrum

We are using a Program/Portfolio Kanban to visualize, manage & improve

flow beyond the team

We see more and more ScrumBan = Best of Kanban + Scrum

NOTE: In many cases the “Ban” part is hidden inside… a.k.a Stealth Kanban…

In general, we’re seeing a trend towards “Flow-thinking/Kanban Inside”

OTOH Flow/Kanban is being used more and more to help deal with scale/legacy issues. In many cases w/o calling it Kanban…

Kanban on its own is moving (very) slowly through the adoption lifecycle

The new Maslow pyramid? Means we need to lead/manage

differently…

ScrumBan – Avoid the Scrum/Kanban battle, go for a great hybrid

DevOps / Continuous Delivery

q  Scale Agile by LEARNING from LeSS/SAFe/etc.

q Sustainability / Motivation - The new Maslow

q  Enable agility using an Agile Org Structure

q  Agile Management / Leadership

q  Agility Depth Assessments

q  #QAisDead ? q  ATDD/BDD/SbE q  #isTDDDead ? q  #NoEstimates ?
