4. HSEQAGR believe planning is key to successful HSEQ, Logistics and operational performance...

www.agr.comwww.agr.com

HSEQ for Remote Ops – Plan Well Ahead

• Desktop Review

– Drilling & Environmental Permitting

– Spill Response Strategy

• Reconnaissance Visit

– Review country infrastructure, base and port facilities

– Absolutely critical for efficient Materials and Logistics planning but also for HSE

• Discuss permitting process with Government

• Understand lead times and approvals process

– Waste facilities – what can go where and what will they do with it?

www.agr.comwww.agr.com

Environmental Issues

• EIA & OSCP can take a long time! (6-12m+)

– You must start EIA and OSCP as soon as possible

– Engagement of a local consultant can help… and hinder!

– Prepare a Terms of Reference and present it to Government, it provides a baseline that the EIA can be judged against

• Review Spill andWaste Management Strategy

• Rig Discharge - Skip and ship is very expensive and logistically challenging OBM v WBM decision

7. Rig Market – Current Events

www.agr.comwww.agr.com

Rig Market – Current Events

• Softening UK market conditions due to reduced demand - especially for floaters

• Increasing rig availability, including many sublet opportunities

• Potential for Norwegian sector floaters entering UK

• Reducing day rates - especially floaters

• One well contracts and options now accepted by drilling rig contractors once again

• Opportunity to drill more readily achievable - at reduced cost and tailored rig contract term

www.agr.comwww.agr.com

Rig Market – Current Events

• For upstream companies which have generally been cutting back spending in the face of investor pressure, this is a time of uncertainty – and worry.

• Total investment in oil & gas in 2015 is expected to fall by 8%.

• Rigs – Norwegian Consultancy Rystad Energy say rig market expected to be balanced again in 2020.

• Shale is substituting the need for projects above USD $85 per barrel – ultra-deepwater rigs will compete in deepwater market & the mid-water market in many regions.

www.agr.comwww.agr.com

Rig Market – Current Events

• 6th generation dayrates could slide to $425k to $475k with 5th generation dropping to USD $325k.

• Future of Jack Ups for 2015/2016 looks like falling rates -as new build arrivals increase.

• The Paragon, Shelf and Hercules effect - minimising Jack-Up retirements – what about semis in future?

• How a boost in Rig demand might happen:

– Higher oil prices;

– More efficient field developments;

– Halt new build orders & more conversions;

– Cold stacking of rigs;

– Scrapping of rigs;

• Seadrill CFO September 2014 quote - “Going to be tough for next couple of years. Going to get worse before it gets better.”
