Report Preparation Workshops
• 16 Nos of 3-4 day workshops conducted by SCERT from May 2014 March 2015) for analysing the collected data, preparation , editing and Finalisation of reports
• VHSE teachers, Experts, and SCERT officials participated in the workshops
Expert Committee Report
• The Draft Report was presented to Academic Core Group and Expert Committee on 19/01/2015 .
• The expert committee approved the report and Dr. Viswas Mehtha IAS, Secretary asked SCERT to publish in the public domain and receive suggestions.
Presentation to Honorable Minister for Education
• The Draft Report was presented to Honorable Minister for Education 05/02 /2015 .
• The Minister has approved the report and asked SCERT to present the final report by considering the suggestions
National Level Consultative Workshop
• 3 Day National Level Consultative workshop conducted at Trivandrum.
• 140 vocational teachers and 35 experts participated in the mega event.
• National Level and state level experts participated in the programme.
• (Dr. Vijayaraghavan / Dr. Reju IAS/ Dr. Palanivel Presented the papers)
3 Day Workshop at SCERT Approach paper preparation
• 3 Day workshop for 90 Teachers was conducted at Trivandrum (10/3 to 12/3).
• 90 vocational teachers participated in the workshop.
• Preparation of Approach paper/ syllabus grid preparation was the major agenda
• Assignments given to all the teachers to prepare syllabus grid for all the 35 vocational courses
Report presentation to Teacher Organisations
• The draft report was presented to the representatives of teacher Organisation on 23/03/2015
Report Submission to Government
• The report was Presented to Curriculum Sub Committee and got approved (10/04/2015).
• Based on the recommendations and suggestions … the final report was submitted to government on 17/04/2015

Examination

On the Job Training Programs
• Duration of OJT will be increased to 4 weeks
• OJT is flexible with regard to courses
• One week OJT at the end of each module.
• OJT should not be transformed to industrial visits -(number of students per organisation should be limited to 2 to 3 )
• A professional team should be set up from the Vocational teachers and it should be a full time assignment. They should look after the OJT / Placement / PTC/ Career Guidance etc. at regional level.
Production-cum-Training Centre
• PTC units should be made compulsory in all VHSE schools
• PTC units must be registered units and should have separate entity. Students Alumni can be given major role in establishing PTC’s in each school.
• PTC’s can be marketed under a specific brand name. Each Production cum Training centers should be treated as profit centers
• OJT can be conducted in this established PTC’s
• It should be capable of providing apprenticeship / employment opportunities for VHSE passed out students
• Proper frame work has to be prepared by the department for PTC units and it should be implemented, co-ordinated and controlled properly.
• GFC teacher should be given the pivotal role in establishing PTC units in each school.
