The Australian Consortium for In-Country Indonesian Studies known as ACICIS (pronounced

“ah-chee-chis” as an Indonesian would) has been opening doors to tertiary institutions throughout

Indonesia since 1994, offering a range of study options and in-country support to help students gain

invaluable first-hand experience of one of the richest and most diverse countries in the world.

About the Program

The Agriculture Semester Program (ASP) at Bogor Agriculture University in Bogor, West Java, allows students to take units in a number of fields including agribusiness, agronomy and horticulture, plant protection, food science and technology, forestry, and animal production and technology.

With classes taught in English, from an Indonesian perspective, students will be well placed to become leaders in international agricultural development with a solid understanding of the food security and resource management challenges facing Indonesia and the Indo-Pacific region. Students will also be able to undertake a professional practicum placement at an Indonesian host organisation to complement their studies.

What is involved?

» Pre-departure support to help orientate participants;

» 3-day in-country orientation;

» Study options in a range of fields;

» Professional practicum placement at an Indonesian host organisation; and,

» An Academic transcript and report on successful completion of the semester.
