● The intersection of Redwood Street and Kokomo Street is controlled by a stop sign for traffic traveling north and south on Kokomo

• The configuration of the intersection prevents traffic on Kokomo Street from seeing on-coming traffic without proceeding into the traffic lanes on Redwood Street

● The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices recommends regulatory signage where sight distance is limited on approach to an inter-section

• The addition of stop signs for Redwood Street traffic would allow Kokomo Street traffic to move into the intersection safely to check for on-coming traffic before proceeding

The request for consideration of all-way stop intersections is consistent with the Texas Transportation Code and Section 18-98. “Stop Intersections” of the City Code providing that the City Council may designate any street intersection as a stop intersection and designate the streets upon which vehicles shall stop before entering such intersection.
