DENVERTwo days before his first face-off with President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney said on Monday that the presidential debate won't be about "winning or losing" but instead it will be a chance for the candidates to describe the "pathway" on which they'd like to take the country."People want to know who's going to win, who's going to score the punches, and who's going to make the biggest difference in the arguments they make," Romney told supporters at a rally inside a local air and space museum here. "There's going to be all the scoring of winning and losing and, you know, in my view, it's not so much winning and losing or even the people themselves, the president and myself, it's about something bigger than that.""These debates are an opportunity for each of us to describe the pathway forward for America that we would choose and the American people are going to have to make their choice as to what kind of America they'd want," Romney continued. In his final public rally before Romney: Debates wont be about winning or losingWednesday's debate, the Republican presidential nominee said he was "delighted" to have the chance to meet his opponent on a debate stageespecially in Colorado, a state he said could very likely determine the outcome of the presidential election."I believe the people of Colorado will choose a better way forward for our country," Romney said

Ahead of Debate, Paul Ryan Takes on Joe BidenBy Shushannah Walshe | ABC OTUS News2 hrs 4 mins agoABC OTUS News - Ahead of Debate, Paul Ryan Takes on Joe Biden (ABC News)COLUMBUS, Ohio-Less than two weeks before Paul Ryan and Joe Biden face off on the debate stage, Paul Ryan took on his counterpart on the issues of Social Security and Medicare. The GOP vice presidential nominee almost always saves his rhetorical fire for the top of the Democratic ticket but Saturday he aimed to rebut a claim the vice president made on the campaign trail in Florida Friday."Just down in Florida yesterday Vice President Biden was making up all new falsehoods about Social Security and taxes," Ryan said at the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance's annual banquet, an event for hunters and fishermen. "They're trying to scare people for political gain. That's unfortunately the kind of campaign that we're seeing, as I said with a president without a record to run on. Let me be very clear: There is only one person in this race threatening the health and retirement security programs of our seniors and that is President Obama. There is only one person in this race insisting on raising taxes and that is President Obama. In fact, Joe Biden himself voted to raise taxes on social security benefits and as a senator, President Obama voted to keep those tax increases in place three times."Ryan continued saying his ticket "will never waiver in our commitment to our seniors.""Our plans actually save these programs, they make no changes for people in or near retirement, they strengthen Medicare and Social Security for a generation," Ryan said. "And you know why we do this? Because it's a promise that was made. It's because people organized their retirements around these promises. They paid their taxes when they worked and now these benefits are due to them. And shame on the politician who wants to use this issue to try and scare seniors when those of us who are out there trying to fix this problem for my generation and my kids' generation and your kids."Speaking at the Century Village retirement community in Boca Raton, Fla. Friday Joe Biden said the Romney-Ryan plan would raise taxes on Social Security and they would turn Medicare into "vouchercare.""If Gov. Romney's plan goes into effect, it could mean that everyone, every one of you, would be paying more on taxes on your Social Security," Biden said. "The average senior would have to pay $460 a year more in taxes for their Social Security. Ladies and gentlemen, that's while these guys are hemorrhaging tax cuts for the super wealthy."Biden's claim is based on a Tax Policy Center analysis that tried to explain some of Romney's economic goals - cutting taxes by 20 percent, closing undisclosed loopholes and balancing the budget. Romney's plan does not specify that he would achieve such goals by raising taxes on Social Security. When Romney unveiled his plan in 2011, he promised there would be no tax hikes on Social Security benefits.Although the vice president accused the GOP ticket of raising taxes on Social Security, while serving in the senate he voted for President Bill Clinton's 1993 budget which raises taxes on Social Security benefits, something both the Romney and Ryan camps were eager to point out. What Biden is referring to as "vouchercare" is Ryan's Medicare plan. Romney has said his plan for Medicare is nearly "identical" to his running mate's. Although Ryan rejects the term voucher it would replace the current Medicare system with a plan where beneficiaries would be paid an amount by the government that they would use toward private insurance premiums. Ryan's plan would not affect current seniors and although critics, including Biden, say seniors would end up paying more Ryan defends his plan saying it's the only way to save Medicare from going completely bankrupt.Ryan and Biden's debate will take place on Oct. 11 in Danville, Ky. and it will be moderated by ABC News' Martha Raddatz. Ryan will take some time for debate prep this coming week heading to Virginia, after a bus tour through Iowa, to get ready for the face off. His debate sparring partner and Joe Biden stand-in is former Solicitor General Ted Olson.ABC News' Arlette Saenz contributed to this report. Tehran says its programme is peaceful.Iranian deputy UN ambassador Eshagh al-Habib said his country was: "strong enough to defend itself and reserves its full right to retaliate with full force against any attack".He accused Mr Netanyahu of making "baseless allegations" in his address to the UN General Assembly in New York.Mr Netanyahu told delegates at the annual meeting of the assembly that Iran could have enough material to make a nuclear bomb by the middle of next year, and a clear message needed to be sent to stop Tehran in its tracks.Continue reading the main story AnalysisJonathan Marcus BBC Diplomatic Correspondent Mr Netanyahu is a man at home in US politics and his message was more attuned to that audience. It was a message of grand simplifications: "the great battle between the modern and the medieval" - in other words between modernity and the forces of radical Islam. This was the cue for Mr Netanyahu to move to his main focus, the potential threat from a nuclear armed Iran. The "hour was getting very late" he said. The Israeli prime minister also twice made positive reference to US President Barack Obama's own comments and actions. It was perhaps a realisation that the antipathy between the two leaders was reaching damaging proportions and also maybe a hint that, while still favouring Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, Mr Netanyahu has sampled the political mood in the US and is re-balancing himself ahead of a possible second Obama victory. Messages behind leaders' speeches"Red lines don't lead to war, red lines prevent war," he said. "Nothing could imperil the world more than a nuclear-armed Iran."He said sanctions passed over the past seven years had not affected Tehran's programme. "The hour is very late," he told delegates. "The Iranian nuclear calendar does not take time out." He said he was convinced that faced with a "clear red line, Iran will back down" and added that he was confident the US and Israel could chart a common path on the issue. On Tuesday, in his own address to the General Assembly, US President Barack Obama stressed the US would "do what we must" to stop Tehran acquiring nuclear arms. However, while the Obama administration has not ruled out a military option, it says sanctions and multilateral negotiations with Iran must still be given time to work.Earlier this month, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the US was not prepared to commit to drawing "red lines".On Wednesday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Western countries of nuclear "intimidation"."Continued threat by the uncivilised Zionists [Israel] to resort to military action is a clear example of this bitter reality," he told the General Assembly.'Ethnic cleansing' Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas highlighted the Palestinians' UN status, saying he would continue to seek full membership.

President Mahmoud Abbas says a Palestinian state must be realisedBut he said negotiations had begun with "regional organisations and member states" aimed at adopting a resolution making Palestine "a non-member state of the United Nations during this session". "In our endeavour," he added, "we do not seek to delegitimise an existing state - that is Israel - but rather to assert the state that must be realised - that is Palestine."Currently, the Palestine Liberation Organisation only has "permanent observer" status. Last year, a bid for full-member status failed because of a lack of support at the UN Security Council. The change would allow Palestinians to participate in General Assembly debates. It would also improve their chances of joining UN agencies and the International Criminal Court.Last year, Palestinians joined the UN cultural agency Unesco, despite Israeli and US opposition.Mr Abbas also denounced Israeli construction in and around East Jerusalem. "It is a campaign of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people via the demolition of their homes," he said.War of words at UN over Japan-China disputed islandsChinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi called the Japanese move illegal and invalid Continue reading the main story Related Stories Q&A: China-Japan islands row China warns at Japan island talks Japan firms stabilise in China Watch A war of words over islands claimed by both Japan and China continued at the United Nations, as the US called for cooler heads to prevail. In a speech, China's foreign minister accused Japan of stealing the islands, which lie in the East China Sea. On Wednesday, the Japanese prime minister called the archipelago an "inherent part" of Japanese territory. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had urged both to "engage in dialogue to calm the waters", a diplomat said. The islands, called Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, are also claimed by Taiwan. South of Okinawa and north of Taiwan, they are controlled by Japan. Earlier this month, the Japanese government bought the islands from their private Japanese owner, reigniting a territorial row that has rumbled for years. The row has seen a ceremony meant to mark Sino-Japanese ties cancelled and a number of Japanese businesses briefly halt production in some Chinese cities because of protests. Both Chinese and Taiwanese fishing boats and surveillance ships have also been sailing in and out of what Japan says are its territorial waters - leading to warnings from Tokyo. 'Basic position' Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi's comments came as he gave China's address to the UN General Assembly. "The moves taken by Japan are totally illegal and invalid," he said. "They can in no way change the historical fact that Japan stole Diaoyu and its affiliated islands from China and the fact that China has territorial sovereignty over them." Continue reading the main story Japan-China disputed islands The archipelago consists of five islands and three reefs Japan, China and Taiwan claim them; they are controlled by Japan and form part of Okinawa prefecture The Japanese government signed a deal in September 2012 to purchase three islands from Japanese businessman Kunioki Kurihara, who used to rent them out to the Japanese state The islands were the focus of a major diplomatic row between Japan and China in 2010 Q&A: China-Japan islands rowOn Wednesday Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda told reporters at the UN that there was no issue to discuss. "It is very clear and there are no territorial issues as such," he said. "Therefore there cannot be any compromise that could mean any setback from this basic position." In a meeting with Mr Yang on Thursday, diplomats said Hillary Clinton called for dialogue and efforts to reduce the tensions. Foreign ministers of Japan and China held talks earlier this week that were described as "severe". The Japanese government moved to buy the islands in response to a potentially much more provocative plan by right-wing Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara to buy and develop them using public donations. The row comes at a time when both China and Japan are facing political changes domestically, making it difficult for either side to be seen as backing down.Japan is also embroiled in another territorial row with South Korea - which is also heading into a presidential election - over a different set of islands, called Takeshima in Japan and Dokdo in South Korea. On Friday Mrs Clinton will hold three-way talks with both the Japanese and South Korean foreign ministers likely to focus on repairing strained ties. Nakoula Basseley Nakoula held for violating probationNakoula Basseley Nakoula is a Christian of Egyptian descent Viewpoints: Anti-Islam film and self-censorship Judge rejects anti-Islam film ban A man linked to an anti-Islam video that sparked riots across the Muslim world has been held without bond after a hearing in Los Angeles, California. A judge said Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was a flight risk and cited a pattern of deception when making his ruling, Reuters news agency reported. Nakoula was investigated for violating probation terms after he was released from prison in 2011 for bank fraud. He has not been detained over the contents of the inflammatory video.Nakoula, a 55-year-old Christian originally from Egypt, allegedly produced the 14-minute trailer for the film Innocence of Muslims. He had been in hiding after the release of the video. After his 2010 conviction, he was sentenced to 21 months in prison and, under the terms of his probation, he was banned from using computers or accessing the internet for five years without an officer's permission.US Central District Chief Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal said: "the court has a lack of trust in this defendant at this time". Assistant Attorney Robert Dugdale said the court believed Nakoula was flight risk. "He has every incentive to disappear," he said.First amendment A clip from the US-made film was dubbed into Arabic, provoking widespread anger for its disrespectful portrayal of the Prophet Muhammad. The film was made on a very low budget, with insults and offensive inferences to the Prophet Mohammad and Islam crudely dubbed on afterwards. Earlier, the Obama administration had requested Google, the company that owns YouTube, to remove the clip. The technology firm refused, saying the film did not violate its rules. The clip was uploaded to YouTube in July, but violence broke out over the video on 11 September. The clip has not broken any laws in the US, where freedom of speech is enshrined in the constitution's first amendment.Four Americans, including US Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in an attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya earlier this month. Meanwhile, some of the actors in the video have come forward to say they were misled. They said had been hired to appear in a film called Desert Warriors, which did not mention Islam or the Prophet Muhammad in the script.prerequisite /prirek.w.zt/ noun [ C ] formal something which must exist or happen before something else can exist or happen Passing a written exam is a prerequisite for taking the advanced course. Public support is a prerequisite for/to the success of this project. They had to agree to certain conditions as a prerequisite of be ing lent the money. There are big times in human life. When you are born, married and died. But, in my opinion, graduation is also big time of your life. So, I sincerely congratulate all members who have been through their big time recently. All of you have done a good job. But, your life won't be stopped here right? So, what's next?

It's career plan. Of course, you guys need to make a living so what would be your next step is a big question. This is my experience as a present to all new graduates.

1. Forget love/ intimate relationship. You should save it for later. It's just inappropriate for now. What you need now is a job, a network. Don't sponge your parents. They had it enough for 20+ years. A network is basically how big your relationship is with people around. The more people you know such as friends..., relatives, employers etc, the higher chance for you to land a job.

2. Be clear of what you wanna be in short term (2 years) or long term (5 years). For example, if your major is accounting, you should set a goal of being a professional accountant in two years. In five-year time, you should set your goal to be senior accountant or accounting team leader. Dream big and do it now, step by step. How to do it? Then you need to answer these questions:+ Who you are?+ What do you currently have? (skills/ age/ network/ business relationship etc)+ What do you need? (more training/ short courses/ vendor certificates etc)+ How can I achieve my goal? (what is your starting point? who should I team up with? what organisation should I learn about etc)+ When will I do it? (now, tomorrow, in a week/ 2 weeks etc)+ What is my milestone (When would be suitable for you to review what you had done?)

3. Don't forget people around you. Many people when reaping their first success often forget who has helped them through their hard time such as parents/ friends etc. Those people don't want to be remembered. But, as a human, you shouldn't not behave like an uneducated one. They help you. That's the fact. You pay them tributes. That's life.

4. Join any organisation which can help you improve your knowledge and skills. Don't think about money (how much you will get paid/ rewards etc). Remember: Big money comes big responsibility (I copy this from Ben Parker (spider man )) Original saying: great power comes great responsibility. When you are up to a certain level, you money will grow. Don't think that with your bachelor degree, you'll get paid with same amount of a person who has been in the industry for years.

In my case, I prefer to join non-profit organisation as I can experience, feel the pain of suffering people from poverty/ diseases/ aging/ dying etc. They people teach you invaluable lessons of life. This is how I grow from my point of view.

5. Relax. It's not a big deal. Having a small party first then starting thinking about the question "WHAT AM I GONNA DO NEXT AND HOW I AM GONNA DO IT"

SignatureA misery man2016: Obamas America filmmaker defends against criticsBy Jonathan Karl, Richard Coolidge & Sherisse Pham | Power Players 2 hrs 5 mins agoSpinners and WinnersFilmmaker Dinesh D'Souza has been called the Michael Moore of the right striking box office gold with a political documentary critics say is filled with innuendo, distortions, and conspiratorial attacks on President Obama. D'Souza's film '2016: Obama's America', has become the second highest grossing political documentary of all time trailing only Moore's 'Fahrenheit 9/11.'While critics carp, D'Souza's low-budget documentary has been a remarkable commercial success. After starting in a single movie theater in Houston, Tex., it went on to become the surprise smash hit of the summer bringing in $32 million as of Monday."The reason I think that the film has struck a chord is that in the core of it, there is a riveting story about Obama," D'Souza says. "You have an abandoned kid, Obama, who was dumped really at birth by his dad, and abandoned at the age of ten by his mother. So he undertakes a kind of heroic odyssey in a way to find his father and find himself."D'Souza travelled around the world to piece together his version of Obama's story. One of the more striking scenes shows D'Souza taking three goats to a village in Kenya to get an interview with one family member, trading the goats, he says, for the interview."People are really hungry for information about Obama. There's a sense that even four years into his presidency, there are lots of missing pieces of the puzzle," D'Souza says. The film's central argument is an alarming one: The president's dream or primary goal is to weaken America, make it less wealthy, less powerful, and less influential in the world."I think Obama's dream is a dream of global justice," says D'Souza. "And he wants to redistribute wealth away from the United States and toward other countries. And he also wants to redistribute power, he wants to shrink America's footprint in the world because he thinks we've been stepping on the world."D'Souza's film ignores evidence that conflicts with his view of Obama. For example, the fact that President Obama sent 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan, significantly increased drone strikes on Al-Qaeda targets in the Pakistani tribal areas, and made the call to go after Osama Bin Laden. This does not seem like a president who is acting in a way to limit America and to make it a weaker country in the world. The critics including some on the political right have been harsh. Forbes Magazine said the film is "very full of holes" and "blurs the arguments against Obama with conspiratorial thinking" and "blatant falsehoods." Reason Magazine called the documentary "a cinematic mess," saying, "At least Michael Moore's crackpot documentaries provide a few impish laughs. In 2016, all the yuks are unintentional."For more on D'Souza and his documentary, including how, according to this filmmaker, Obama supports 100 percent taxation, check out this week's Spinners and Winners.Obama to urge UN to confront roots of Muslim rageBy BEN FELLER | Associated Press 3 hrs ago

(AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais)The Marine One helicopter, with President Barack Obama and first NEW YORK (AP) Campaign politics shadowing every word, President Barack Obama on Tuesday will challenge the world to confront the root causes of rage exploding across the Muslim world, calling it a defining choice "between the forces that would drive us apart and the hopes we hold in common."Obama will step before the United Nations General Assembly and declare that the United States will not shrink from its role in troubled, transitioning nations despite the killing of four Americans in Libya, including U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens, and more than 50 people total in violence linked at least in part to an anti-Muslim film.Obama will also to seek to show U.S. resolve in preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, a menacing issue that has undermined White House relations with Israel's leadership. In his final international address before the November election, Obama will stand up for democratic values on a stage afforded to presidents, not presidential challengers. He will use it to try to boost his political standing without ever mentioning Republican opponent Mitt Romney. Were there any doubt that the U.S. presidential campaign hung heavy over Obama's speech, Romney shredded it by assailing Obama's foreign affairs leadership on the eve of the president's speech. Now comes Obama's chance to assert his world vision on his terms."Today, we must affirm that our future will be determined by people like Chris Stevens, and not by his killers," Obama said of the U.S. ambassador, who was killed during an assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that the White House has deemed a terrorist attack. "Today, we must declare that this violence and intolerance has no place among our United Nations."The White House released excerpts in advance of Obama's midmorning speech.Obama's comments will be scrutinized around the globe and by the gathering of presidents and prime ministers in the famed United Nations hall, given the tumult, terrorism, nuclear threats and poverty that bind so many nations. His emphasis will be on the unrest in the Muslim world and on Iran, whose disputed nuclear ambitions have unnerved much of the world and caused tension between the United States and longstanding ally Israel over whether Obama has forcefully defined his breaking point for military action."Make no mistake: a nuclear-armed Iran is not a challenge that can be contained," Obama says in his speech. He adds: "That is why a coalition of countries is holding the Iranian government accountable. And that is why the United States will do what we must to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon."That language remains as specific as Obama will publicly describe his "red line" for military intervention.Setting a sharp political context for the speech, Romney went on the offensive Monday."This is time for a president who will shape events in the Middle East, not just be merciful or be at the mercy of the events," Romney said. Focusing on the killing of Stevens and mass bloodshed in Syria, Romney repeatedly ridiculed Obama's comment that nations moving toward democracy after the Arab Spring face "bumps in the road."That prompted White House spokesman Jay Carney to fire back at Romney: "There is a certain rather desperate attempt to grasp at words and phrases here to find political advantage, and in this case that's profoundly offensive."Obama's activities at the United Nations say plenty, too: There are not many of them. Campaigning is his imperative. He is skipping the private meetings with key allies that a U.S. president typically schedules when the whole international community comes to New York. The president will spend only 24 hours in New York in total this time, and he spent some of it Monday to appear on "The View," giving a talk show interview intended to sell his election pitch to a big TV audience. The dominant theme of Obama's U.N. speech will be his response to the protests raging in places across the Middle East and North Africa. As he has for days, Obama will condemn the violence, defend democratic principles of free speech and promise no U.S. withdrawal of outreach.Much of the growing ire is aimed at the United States because of anti-Islam film produced in this country, but the White House has now deemed the attack on its consulate in Libya a "terrorist attack" and has not ruled out the possibility it was premeditated. Obama now says it "wasn't just a mob action.""There are no words that excuse the killing of innocents," Obama says in the speech excerpts. "There is no video that justifies an attack on an embassy. There is no slander that provides an excuse for people to burn a restaurant in Lebanon, or destroy a school in Tunis, or cause death and destruction in Pakistan."In a preview of Obama's speech, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton appealed Monday for Muslims to show "dignity" as they protest the film denigrating the Prophet Muhammad."Dignity does not come from avenging insults," she said in a speech to her husband's Clinton Global Initiative. Romney and Obama were to speak there as well on Tuesday. The secretary of state was also standing in for Obama, meeting with the presidents of Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya and Pakistan. She was due later in the week to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. For U.S. presidents, the yearly United Nations address is always laced with domestic politics even though the speeches are scripted without campaign references. Wars and the failed attempts at Mideast peace have dominated in recent years.Romney's campaign made the campaign linkage directly Monday."On the eve of his United Nations address, President Obama's foreign policy is in disarray," spokesman Ryan Williams said. "As president, Mitt Romney will repair our relationships abroad and create a safer, more secure nation."Polling shows Obama has a clear edge over Romney when voters are asked who they think is a stronger leader and would better protect the country.__Associated Press writer Matthew Lee contributed to this story.Follow Ben Feller at http://www.twitter.com/benfellerdc

responded to Benghazi attack as terrorism on Day One: SourceBy Olivier Knox, Yahoo! News | The Ticket2 hrs 2 mins agoWhen gunmen struck the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11 of this year, the response from American officials was almost simultaneous: They immediately set about collecting information about the attackers, some of whom were quickly identified as foreigners, and tracing links from them to known extremist groups, a knowledgeable source has told Yahoo News. The source's description came as fresh news accounts cast doubt on the White House's insistence that it has been forthright all along about what it knew about the attack. (I tweeted on Sept. 21 that this same source informed Yahoo News that the administration privately labeled the attack as terrorism on "Day One.")"Friendly Libyans were saying almost immediately that the organized attackers (not the protesters) seemed to be mostly foreigners. By the 13th, people werebeginningto be identified and rolled up," the source, who has been critical of the administration in the past, told Yahoo News. One early asset: Social media, where videos and photos of the attack gave intelligence officials early clues to what really happened."In this case, the intel has been spot-on from the beginning," the source said. American intelligence reached the conclusion that the assault on the consulate was terrorism "on Day One" and "the Brits, the French, Italians all said the same thing within 48 hours." The source agreed to detail the American response to the tragedy on condition of anonymity. The day after the attack, President Barack Obama used his first public remarks on the tragedy to declare that "no acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for." That contradicts Republican charges that the president has refused to label the attack as "terrorism."The issue is not merely an inside-the-Beltway word game. A formal finding of terrorism enabled the U.S. government to respond with more military and intelligence assets than if the attack had been judged to be merely a criminal act.But top aides, including Jay Carney, the White House press secretary, and Susan Rice, the ambassador to the United Nations, argued for days afterward that the violence was linked to an Internet video that ridicules Islam. That film has sparked angry demonstrations across the Muslim world. Carney eventually said it was "self-evident" that it was terrorisma day after National Counterterrorism Center Director Matt Olsen told senators that it was, while insisting there was no evidence of "significant ... planning." Olsen also said the administration was looking at "connections" between the attackers and al-Qaida, including a regional offshoot, al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb.Rice told NBC News on Sept. 16, five days after the attack, that the incident was "initially a spontaneous reaction" to protests in Cairo against the film. "What we think then transpired in Benghazi is that opportunistic extremist elements came to the consulate as this was unfolding."Yet Obama himself told "The View" this week that the sophistication of the attack showed it "wasn't just a mob action."Administration officials have underlined that there is an FBI investigation into the attack, and said they will not offer definitive conclusions into what happened in Benghazi until that probe wraps up. They have also accused Republicans, led by Mitt Romney, of trying to score political points with the death of Chris Stevens, the American ambassador to Libya, who died as a result of the attack."Let's be clear about this:Every step of the way, the information that we have provided to you and the general public about the attack in Benghazi has been based on the best intelligence we've had and the assessments of our intelligence community," Carney told reporters on Thursday. But the anonymous source pointed to the relative silence from Obama's national security adviser, Tom Donilon, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper."They knew the real story from the beginning and were not paraded around to make statements," the source told Yahoo News. "Understand that the first bits of information from something like this are usually not reliable, but at the end of 24 hours, folks should have a pretty good idea of what happened ... or they are not doing their job."Asked about the evolving administration line, the anonymous source said that "confusion and misinformation always helps an operational response.""How much is subjective, but it is always good not to let youropponenthave insight into what you know and don't know," the source said. "However, as you can tell, this was aclumsy, some would characterize (it as) verysophomoric, response by the administration" at the communications level.INSTRUCTIONSMake sure that you listen to this Audio Lesson in a place where you can speak aloud. The most complete Spanish Course available is now in Book & CD Version. 8 levels are available. Each level includes one book and 5-8 corresponding CDs.Platiquemos FSI Spanish Course. The world''''s best Spanish course just got better! Don Casteel fluent in several languages and a former Foreign Service Officer, is well trained in the FSI method. He has completely revised and improved "the course that works." This 2002 Edition has improved audio with both male and female voices and over 200 illustrations with factoids, and the content is more contemporary than ever. This new version has retained the same grammatical and language content that has made this the most widely sold course on the language market. Eight levels are available to lead you to mastery of Spanish. Once completed you will be able to understand spoken and written Spanish; it will also allow you to actively engage in conversations with an abundant vocabulary of several thousand words.

Platiquemos Means Let''''s TalkPlatiquemos was prepared specifically to train officers of the Foreign Service and of other United States Government agencies who are involved in foreign affairs and who need to learn to speak Spanish, and has been modified and adapted from its original format to make it applicable to a wider audience and to make it easier to read and use. The original FSI Basic Course in Spanish consists of four volumes with a total of well over 2,000 pages. In order to make the program more manageable, it has been divided it into eight levels, with the original text re-formatted for clarity and simplicity and modified to make it more relevant to non-government students; also included is new cultural information and interesting illustrations. The texts average about 175 letter-size pages, and each Level has audio, replicating the drills and exercises found in the text.Method Of TeachingThe method is known as guided imitation. It may appear new, but it actually has been used by a considerable number of teachers for many years. As used in this program, it combines elements of the "direct", "audio-lingual", "communicative", and "grammar/translation" methods; other methodologies, such as Total Physical Response can also be used with the program. Its goal is to teach students to speak easily, fluently, with very little accent, and to do this without conscious effort, just as one speaks their own language without conscious effort. There are two very important aspects of this method. The first is learning a relatively small body of material so well that it requires very little effort to produce it - this is called overlearning. If the student overlearns every dialogue and drill as they goes through this program, they will almost certainly make rapid progress in learning the language. The second aspect is learning to authentically manipulate the sounds, sequences, and patterns of the language. The important implication here is the reality of both the model and the imitation. The model (teacher, recording, etc.) must provide Spanish as people really speak it in actual conversations, and the student must be helped to create an accurate imitation. Above all, the normal tempo of pronunciation must be the classroom standard; slowing down is in this context distortion.PronunciationThe first two units are focused primarily on pronunciation problems. Drills on other aspects of the language are deliberately postponed because of the importance of developing good pronunciation habits from the very beginning of the course. The importance of pronunciation cannot be over-emphasized; it is the basis of all real fluency. A person will be able to understand anything they can meaningfully say themselves if there is a close similarity between the way they hear it and the way they say it. The more similar, the greater the ease of comprehension.

Level I Grammar ContentIn Level I, you will begin to be introduced to some of the things that are different about Spanish and English, and can at first glance seem quite odd to us English speakers. For instance, all Spanish nouns must be either masculine or feminine; sometimes there appears to be no reason, and indeed the reasons why a "table" is feminine: la mesa; and a "book" is masculine: el libro, aren''''t important. What is important is to learn nouns with their pronouns la or el; and learn to automatically add the proper endings to all adjectives based on the gender of the noun they''''re describing.Units 1 and 2 contain basic greetings, words and expressions that will give you a practical start in learning the language. A primary purpose of Units 1 and 2 is to give students a good grounding in pronunciation. The song for Unit 1 is La Adelita, perhaps the most famous song from the Mexican Revolution; for Unit 2 La Malaguea from Spain, but with the words, not just the instrumental version usually heard. Another well-known song from the Mexican revolution, La Valentina, together with an article about the antecedents of this cataclysmic event.Unit 3. Gender of singular nouns and adjectives. The song for Unit 3 is Alma Llanera, a classic song from the Llano region of northern South America.Unit 4. Number in nouns and adjectives, and the irregular verb estar. The song is En mi viejo San Juan [note the capitalization in this and other song titles--Spanish doesn''''t capitalize as much as English], from Puerto Rico in the classic "trio" genre which is found in music from almost every Spanish-speaking country.Unit 5. The irregular verb ser. The song is Guitarra, guitarra ma; composed by Argentina''''s immortal Carlos Gardel and sung by the legendary Tro Los Panchos.Unit 6. Present tense forms of regular verbs ending in -ar, and the use of definite articles with titles in reference to persons. The song is El amor de mi boho, a Cuban folk song.Unit 7. Present tense forms of regular verbs ending in -er, the demonstrative forms este, ese, aquel, and the distribution of ser and estar. The song is Yo vendo unos ojos negros, a folk song from Chile.Unit 8. Present tense forms of regular verbs ending in -ir, obligatory contractions, and noun-adjective agreement. The song is the Mexican National Anthem [Himno nacional de la Repblica Mexicana], which is representative in both style and lyrics of patriotic music from all over Latin America.Unit 9. The irregular auxiliary verb haber, regular -do forms in the present perfect construction, full forms of possessives, and adjective position. The song is Cristo ya naci en Paracaguina, from Nicaragua.
