The Department of ECE has organized for a two days national level seminar

on MIMO Wireless Communication and Future Networks on 2nd and 3rd December

2013, sponsored by AICTE. This two days seminar has provided a platform for

researchers and academicians to network and exchange ideas on various research

topics such as MIMO-OFDM, Mathematical modeling on MIMO, Diversity

techniques, Spatial modulation and Future Networks and LTE systems.

The two days seminar had six sessions with a lecture delivered by the expert

followed by a discussion at the end of each session. There were 51 participants

who have registered for the seminar, out of which 36 members were from the

various colleges in Tamil Nadu.

The speakers were leading researchers and academicians in the field of

Wireless Communication from top engineering institutions in India. The session

speakers were Prof. Dr. K. Giridhar from IIT Madras, Dr. M. D. Selvaraj from

IIITDM Kanchipuram, Mr. R. Tamilchelvan, Project leader from Siemens, Prof.

Dr. K. Gunaseelan from CEG, Anna University, Prof. Dr. K.V. Anusuya from PSG

Tech., Coimbatore and Mr. C. Arunachala perumal, Research scholar from Anna

University.

On 2nd December, 2013 the inauguration function started with the lighting of

kuthuvillaku as a tribute to mother Saraswathi, the goddess of knowledge by the

chief guest Prof. Dr. K. Giridhar, IIT Madras. The lighting ceremony was followed

by thamizh thai vaazhthu.

Prof. Dr. N. Gangatharan, HOD/ECE, RMCET rendered the welcome

address. He extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and the participants. He

congratulated the faculty members for their support and stated how the two-days

seminar will be helpful for the academicians and research scholars.

Dr. E. B. Perumal Pillai, Principal, RMKCET delivered the presidential

address, he welcomed all the participants and emphasized on the importance of

participating in seminars and conferences for continuously updating on the recent

technologies which would be helpful for the student community.
