The Pannonian Plain covers the northern third of the
country while the easternmost tip of Serbia extends into theWallachian Plain. The terrain of central part of the country, withthe region of Šumadija at its heart, consists chiefly of hillstraversed by the rivers. Mountains dominate the southern thirdof Serbia. Dinaric Alps stretch in the west and the southwestfollowing the flow of the rivers Drina and Ibar. CarpathianMountains and Balkan Mountains stretch in north–southdirection in the eastern Serbia.The Danube, the second largest European river, passes throughSerbia. It is joined by its biggest tributaries, the Great Morava,Sava and Tisza rivers.
ClimateThe climate of Serbia is under the influences of the landmass ofEurasia and Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. With mean Januarytemperatures around 0 °C (32 °F), and mean July temperatures of 22 °C(72 °F), it can be classified into humid subtropical climate. In thenorth, the climate is more continental, with cold winters, and hot,humid summers along with well distributed rainfall patterns. In thesouth, summers and autumns are drier, and winters are relatively cold,with heavy inland snowfall in the mountains.
EnvironmentThere are 377 protected areas of Serbia, encompassing 4,947square kilometers or 6.4% of the country. Those protectedareas include 5 national parks (Đerdap, Tara, Kopaonik, FruškaGora and Šar Mountain), 15 nature parks, 15 "landscapes ofoutstanding features", 61 nature reserves, and 281 naturalmonuments.

► SERBIAN NEW YEAR - We celebrate holidays under the old (Julian) calendar.
This means that Christmas is celebrated on January 7th. we celebrate New Year's evetwice - regularly on December 31st, and we also celebrate Serbian New Year, January13th.
► SLAVA - This is the day when each house (family) celebrates its own patron saint.
By tradition, the glory is celebrated in small circle of people, with family and closefriends.
SERBIAN CUISINE is famous because of heavy food. Our
meals are pretty big and very delicious.

bus stop is next to Terminal 1 and the other one is in the front of
