A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Our Momentum…
Today, the world witnesses the ability of young
people to create real impact on their societies as
they lead political, social, and economical reform
across the MENA region; creating a clear
statement that young people today are a skilled,
passionate, and determined energy which should
not only be recognized as a force and a tool, but
also a core pillar in their communities’ leadership
towards a better future.
2011 has marked a new momentum for young
people around the world; transforming the way
organizations and governments appreciate youth
innovation, complexity, connectivity, and passion,
and how young people could be engaged more in
innovating ideas and designing strategies that
copes with today’s constantly changing world and
technology.
As we believe in the incredible power of young
people, we in AIESEC feel the importance of
harnessing this power and guiding it towards
positive actions to create positive impact on the
local and global societies; by keeping young
people informed of the burring issues affecting our
world today, and providing them with the
environment to explore their own leadership and
how they can contribute into making a difference in
the local communities.
In the past five years, as an organization led by
youth for youth, AIESEC in Jordan جمعية تنمية مهارات
القياديةالشباب has been a living example of what
young people in Jordan are capable of; we have
delivered over 200 life-changing experiences,
initiated and led 7 issue based projects in
entrepreneurship, sustainability, education, and
cultural exchange, partnered with over 30
organizations, and delivered over 40 conferences
and seminars in three different territories.
Our unique youthful yet professional approach,
has made us one of young people’s and
organizations’ first choices when it comes to
creating strong, responsible, ethical and motivated
leaders of tomorrow who can add value to the
Jordanian community.
As we mark our fifth anniversary and achievement
of 5 generations of AIESEC Jordan members, we
in AIESEC Jordan find ourselves ready to unleash
our potential and take our impact to the next level
by expanding our presence and impact to new
territories, launching new concrete initiatives and
engaging more young people into what we do, in
order to activate the potential of more responsible
leaders who can positively impact Jordan.
This report is the summary of our main
achievements in the past 5 years, and a very small
token of our appreciation and gratitude for our
partners, supporters, members and alumni who
made all of this possible.
Thank you,
Best Wishes,
Zaid AlBitar

AIESEC JORDAN (جمعية تنمية مهارات الشباب القيادية)
AIESEC in Jordan (جمعية تنمية مهارات الشباب القيادية) is a non-political, non-governmental, non-for-profit
organization, registered at the Jordanian Ministry of Interior, aims to develop the leadership potential of
university students and recent graduates in Jordan enabling them to become globally-minded leaders who
have the ability to positively impact their local community.
Establishment: AIESEC in Jordan was established in June 2006 when AIESEC International envisioned an AIESEC
expansion in the middle east-particularly the Levant region. While at first both Jordan and Lebanon were
nominated to be official expansion countries, the political unrest in Lebanon forced AIESEC to put the
initiative to a halt and move forward with Jordan, initially chosen as one of the strongest knowledge-based
societies in the MENA region.
The start-up team of AIESEC in Jordan was a team of selected international students from different regions
whom have had a strong leadership within AIESEC, and were assigned for the responsibility of starting up
AIESEC in Jordan and prepare the next generation of students in Jordan to lead the organization.
Structure: AIESEC Jordan's structure is focus around flexibility and efficiency, while ensuring a governance and
accountability system. A National Member Committee is responsible for the strategic development of the
association, while Local Chapters are responsible for drawing local strategies and taking charge of
operations on the ground.

The Alumni Foundation is an initiative by AIESEC Jordan’s National Committee 2010/2011 that aims to reconnect
the alumni of AIESEC in Jordan to utilize their experiences in developing new generations within the association
as well as to provide a support network for those graduates as they head for their career future after AIESEC.
In December 2010, AIESEC Jordan concluded the first alumni meeting in which they drew the first guidelines for
the foundation; specifying alumni policies, projects, and what incentives AIESEC Jordan can offer to its alumni to
engage them and reconnect them to the association.
In January 2011, the alumni foundation became a completely independent organization with 45 active members
that is self-governed, and managed by an elected team of coordinators:
Mr. Mohammad Momani – Alumni Foundation President
Mr. Qais Al Kurdi - Alumni-alumni Projects Coordinator
Ms. Mais Al Muhtaseb - Alumni-AIESEC Projects Coordinator
AIESEC JORDAN ALUMNI FOUNDATION
“Having had the chance to experience a life changing experience
through AIESEC helped me personally develop and sculpt a set of
unique skills related to business environment and behavior,
community projects and services and an understanding of the local,
regional and international market.
Being an AIESEC member has paid off after 3-4 years of corporate
work in Jordan and the region, and it is only a belief that when the time
comes, my role is to give back to the talented developing Jordanian
youth that are investing into becoming change agents and active
members of their communities.
Our role as alumni steering committee will be to provide full support
and inputs for AIESEC leading teams and local members here in
Jordan. And invest in creating an active body that is willing to help
and support the members of AIESEC Jordan.”

I-Able Project | 2010 – Ongoing
With almost 8% of the Jordanian population having disability challenges and limited access to proper education, job opportunities and leadership roles in the community, disability is indeed an issue effecting the socio-economic development in Jordan.
As an issue-based project launched by AIESEC Jordan’s local chapter in Irbid in 2010, and led by university students, I-Able project aims to enhance social innovation and empower young people with physical disabilities to develop their career path.

iGreen Project | 2009 - Ongoing
Naturally, environmental sustainability is a part of the global social and economic
development. Unfortunate exploitation of our natural resources such as land,
forests, fisheries and water have had alarming consequences on the environment in
recent decades, often harming countries like Jordan that depend on natural
resources for their livelihood.
As an issue-based project launched by AIESEC Jordan’s local chapter in Amman in 2009,
and led by university students, iGreen aims to act a platform for young people to take
action and increase awareness about this pressing issue through a number of
awareness programs and recycling campaigns.

Summer Camp Programme | 2009-Ongoing
A programme run under the umbrella of the uCan Project, the program's benefits
are two-fold; first, the school receives the opportunity to engage its pupils on a non-
academic level while helping them develop their interpersonal and soft skills, as well as
cultivate their creativity and innovation. Second, the program allows the school to source
talent from one of 111 countries to partake and assist in the summer camp, adding an
international flavor to the camp and bridging the gap through intercultural
understanding.
The Youth Leadership Forum | 2009-Open
The YLF is an annual forum held on June of every year, started as an
initiative by AIESEC in Jordan to inspire and activate the leadership potential
of young people in Jordan to take initiatives and positive actions to
impact their local communities.
At the core, the forum aspires to develop key leadership competencies that
need to be cultivated and developed in young people today in order to create
a strong, responsible and active generation of future leaders who can face
future social, economic, and environmental challenges.
The National Ambassadors Programme | July 2011-Ongoing
The Ambassadors Programme is a fresh initiative by AIESEC in Jordan that
aims to enable young people in territories that AIESEC is not yet present in to
live the empowering experience of AIESEC through leading issue-based
projects in their local communities.
4 projects led by 20 ambassadors will be designed each to tackle a specific
leadership competency that is needed to be developed in order to prepare
young people to face social and economic challenges that Jordan will most
probably face by 2020 and through this initiative we are able create a more
focused leadership development and prepare young people to the future that
is yet to come.
