LONG TERM GOALSLong term goals to teach this section of islam is to make

students aware of their rights and their duties as a citizen , as a wife/ husband and as a son/ daughter.

If at this level we are able to build the foundation of students to be better human , they will go on to make a stronger and a peaceful nation.

This will help eradicate evils from society if we make the students understand the true meaning of nikkah and the duties and rights given by islam to husband and wife.

In the Long Run , this will help them in becoming good parents and raising their children teaching what is right and what is not in the light of islam.

Quran) , and hadith to make better understanding for the students and to increase their ability to quote authentic references.

Students will be encouraged to discuss their family situations and how they handle the problems and what role do they play to stabilize any emotional chaos.

Students will be given the task to evaluate and study differences between a happy living family and a broken family and what their conclusion is as how they can play a role in running a happy family.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE TO BE TAUGHT “O man kind . Be dutiful to your Lord who created you from a single person (Adam ) and from Him He created His wife and from them both He created many men and women “

Family life makes the basis of a society so in order to move towards making a peaceful society and hence a stronger nation , it is important for all of us to understand how to lay the foundation of a happy family. If everyone are aware of their duties , then there will be no violation of anyone’s right , and evils of the society will be nipped in bud.

Rights of Parents in the light of Quran and Hadith (1) Right to be respected and obeyed: (2) Right to scold and rebuke: (3) Right to be looked after And worship Allah and do not ascribe any partner to Him, and be good to

parents, and to relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the related neighbour and the unrelated neighbour, and the close companion and the traveller; and your bondwomen; indeed Allah does not like any boastful, proud person. (4:36)

(4) Right to be helped (5) Right to kind words/good behaviour:

treat your parents with kindness; if either of them or both reach old age in your presence, do not say “uff"* to them and do not rebuff them, and speak to them with the utmost respect. And lower your wing humbly for them, with mercy, and pray, "My Lord! Have mercy on them both, the way they nursed me when I was young." (17:23-24)

Ibn Mas'ood  asked the Prophet (p.b.u.h.): "Which deed is most beloved by Allah?" He said, 'Observing prayer in time.' "And next to that?" He said: 'Being dutiful to one's parents.' "And next to that?" He answered: 'Jihad (fight in the cause of Allah).'

Children have the right to be fed, clothed, and protected until they reach adulthood.

Children must have the respect, to enjoy love and affection from their parents.

Children have the right to be treated equally, vis-a-vis their siblings in terms of financial gifts.

Prophet Muhammad was reported as saying: "Be fair and just in terms of the gifts you offer your children. If I was to give preference to any (gender over the other) I would have preferred females over males (in terms of giving gifts)."

Children have the right to education.A saying attributed to Muhammad relates: "A father gives his child nothing better than a good education."

Parents are recommended to provide adequately for children in inheritance.

Allah, the Almighty says: "And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned." (The Holy Quran: 52:21)

The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Everyone of you is a protector and guardian and responsible for your wards and things under your care and a man is a guardian of his family members, and is accountable for those placed under his charge." (Bukhari and Muslim)
