Objective of the study
• To repair, install and bring into operation three different Air
Quality Monitoring Instruments
• At the existing Measurement Station in Lauchäcker, Vaihingen
• And to set up the online data transfer system to IFK

Bring Instrument into operation: NOX (NO+NO2)
• Build 1996
• Instrument had to be tested
and showed problems
• FI blown due to current leak
• Power supply board
replaced at HLUG
• UV Lamp power went down
in testing phase
• Replaced at IFK, from the
spare parts instrument
8
Bring Instrument into operation: CO
• Build 2003
• Donation of HLUG
• Was calibrated when picked
up for zero point, span and
calibration settings
9
Bring Instrument into operation: O3
• Had to be changed twice
• Donation of UBA
• Only digital output was available
• Analog output was installed with
help of HLUG
• Battery died out, settings lost
• Replaced by Thermo Instrument
• Output wasn‘t potential free
• Separation Amplifier was installed

Conclusions
• The ambient air quality monitors were repaired and installed
• Brought into operation with data acquisition
• Results from pollution and meteorological parameters put
together for analysis
• Further work could be done after the instruments are
calibrated and operating continuously
• Data transfer and plotting can be automated, and the results
can be made available on the institute website [Campus Wetter
(Stuttgart-Vaihingen)]
