AirLive Advantage

Quality and Reliability

AirLive Wireless AP is subjected to pass a 2-hour oven test at over 100 degree Celsius. So even when the case is melted, the AP continues to operate. No other manufacturer will put such strict standard on their product design.

The metal mounting kit has been tested to sustain wind up to category 17 on the Beaufort scale. That is 216 km per hour wind speed.

Long Distance/Wide Coverage Wireless Technologies Comparison

Hi-Powered Repeater Beam Forming MIMO

Indoor Use Yes Yes Yes Yes

Outdoor Use Yes No Yes (but not for point to point application)

No (for dual polarity directional use only)

Advantage Works in all environments. Best for both indoor and outdoor coverage

Extend distance of any AP or Router.

The most effective for mult-level and multi-wall environment.

Simple and cost effective way for indoor.

Disadvantage Must work within legal power limit.

Setting up might be more complicated than other technology.

More expensive technology. Work best with the same chipset.

Less effective in multi-level environment and outdoor environments

Special Note Both side should be hi-power for best results

Best for extending coverage of current networks

The technology to deliver the fastest speed and widest indoor coverage.

Indoor MIMO products can not be hi-powered

Transmit Power (dBm vs. mW)TX Power in dBm TX Power in mW(milli-watt)

17dBm 50mW

20dBm 100mW

23dBm 200mW

26dBm 400mW

28dBm 600mW

29dBm 800mW

30dBm 1000mW (1 Watt)

33dBm 2000mW (2 Watt)

For every 3 dBm of increase, the TX output power double in wattage. Increasing TX output power is the most direct way to increase distance and coverage.

Hi-Power Technology

Page 10: Airlive Wireless Seminar

Competitor’s so called 2000mW USB

Some vendor claim their USB has 2000mW output power. But…

Page 11: Airlive Wireless Seminar

Below is the specification from their website. In reality, it is only a 600mW(28dBm) device which adds the 5dBi antenna to claim 2000mW. Since the antenna is changeable. It is far away from the truth.

Page 12: Airlive Wireless Seminar

WN-380USB TX Power

AirLive only advertises the WN-380USB as 800mW(29dBm). Yet it reaches 29dBm in the reading. Adding 1dB for cable loss, its power is actually 30dBm without antenna. AirLive’s 800mW is more powerful than competitor’s 2000mW

Page 13: Airlive Wireless Seminar

Competitor’s CPE claims 24dBm. But it only measures 12.8dB

Competitor’s so-called 24dB CPE

Page 14: Airlive Wireless Seminar

AirLive AirMax5 TX Power

AirLive CPE claims 23dBm and it measures 23.7dB

Page 15: Airlive Wireless Seminar

Competitor’s AP claims 27dBm. But it only measures 22.5dB

Competitor’s So-Called 27dBm AP

Page 16: Airlive Wireless Seminar

AirLive N.Power TX Power

AirLive N.Power claims 30dBm without antenna, but it measures 30.4dBm. Exceed the expectation

Why AirLive products can reach longer distance?

Because we do what we promise

Beam Forming Technology

Page 26: Airlive Wireless Seminar

Beam Forming

Beam Forming is the new wireless technology to expand the coverage in the multi-level homes and offices. It utilizes “Directional Sensing” and “Multi-Path” techniques to achieve this purpose

Page 27: Airlive Wireless Seminar

The wireless radios of a beam forming router will sense the direction of incoming wireless signal. Then it will focus the transmission signal towards that direction. The technology increases the wireless signal strength and the transmission stability towards the intended recipients. It improves the radios' efficiency and utility level to achieve greater wireless coverage

Directional Sensing

Page 28: Airlive Wireless Seminar

Multi-Path Capability

The wireless signals usually reach remote destinations by signal bouncing. During this process, it is possible that the multiple paths are formed to reach the destination devices. It might create the "the early transmitted packets will arrive later" problem which will render most packets useless. The N450R's multipath capability have special buffers to regroup the multipath packet. The end result is much greater transmission rate in complex environments.

Conference Room Wireless Setup

During the introduction of iPhone 4, Steve Jobs could not demonstrate Face Time because too many users was sharing the WiFi which overload the network. How should we setup the WiFi network in a conference room where many users will share the bandwidth? A typical Access Point can handle between 20 to 30 users. There are some more powerful AP that can handle more users, yet since the WiFi bandwidth is shared by all users. It is still not a good solution. The best solution is to use multiple APs with user limitation. So each users can get enough bandwidth without overloading the network.

Page 57: Airlive Wireless Seminar

Super Channel + Channel Shifting technologies provide absolutely secured wireless connection that is immune to wireless jamming and tapping for mission critical applications such as IPCAM and Enterprise server security

Private Channel

Page 58: Airlive Wireless Seminar

In 5GHz. Normally, each channel is every 20MHz. Therefore, the channel will start every 4. For example, channel 36, 40,44…etc

Channel Shifting

Page 59: Airlive Wireless Seminar

When every 5GHz is enabled, channels can begin at any frequency. Therefore, the center frequency is shifted. Creating non-standard channels that is more private and difficult to access.

Channel Shift

Page 60: Airlive Wireless Seminar

802.11a’s frequency band starts from 5.18 to 5.825GHz. Super Channels adds 4.9GHz and 6.1GHz band. These channels are rarely used. Therefore, it is free of interference and wireless jamming.

Hotel Installation

Page 79: Airlive Wireless Seminar

It’s quote common that customers will give you the floor plan of a hotel and ask you to plan the installation. Which of the following area below is the best to install the Access Points?

1Outside Windows?

2

Inside the Room?

3 In the Hall Way?

Page 80: Airlive Wireless Seminar

The best place to install AP in the hotel is in the false ceiling of the hallway. The reason is most hotel doors are made of wood. It can reach more rooms through the door than other locations.

Install AP on the False Celing
