Commissioning WebcastApril 21, 2010

Why do I need Commissioning? Why shouldCommissioning start in the design phase? How can Iavoid or reverse building performance decay? Howdoes commissioning improve ROI?

Get answers to these questions and tools tocommission your next building by participating in theA S H R A E W e b c a s t " R i g h t f r o m t h eStart—Commissioning for High PerformanceBuildings."

For more information, please refer to the flyer attachedto this Airways bulletin.

Annual Golf TournamentYou may recall the Survey I did to deterimine thelocation of this year's ASHRAE Hamilton Chapter GolfTournament. In a close vote . . . Peninsula Lakes wonthe right to host the Wednesday, June 9th event.

Please note the new Entry Fee of $160.00 per person.Sponsorship fees remain unchanged.

I hope that, by giving ample notice of this tournament,we reach our goal of 120 golfers. We fell short, lastyear, causing a HUGE GAP, while George Menziespatiently waited more than 2 hours in the scorching sun(the only day this past summer!) for the next group topass his Research hole.

Also, if you are in a position to donate a Gift Card in oneof a $10, $20, $30 or $40 denomination, I would greatlyappreciate it.

Please send your completed registration form (copyattached to this Airways bulletin) to:

The program will:• Dispel common myths about Commissioning• Show you how to make the Commissioning process work for you• Clarify how to avoid or reverse performance decay• Demonstrate through Case Studies how Commissioning improves ROI

How do I register?Online registration will begin March 2, 2010 at www.ashrae.org/CxWebcast. There is no fee for registration. If you have any questions, e-mail us at [email protected] or call 678-539-1200.

RESEARCH: ASHRAE would like to thank you again for the support you've shown ASHRAE Research over the past years. We sincerely hope that you will renew your support in this program so ASHRAE can continue its research in the HVAC&R industry. Whether you specialize in IAQ, green building, tools and applications or refrigeration, ASHRAE has research projects focused on your field of expertise and the specific topics that affect your business most. Not only does your generous contribution insure the future growth of your industry, it also influences the health and well being of all of us today and for future generations. If there is a specific research topic you’re interested in, please contact Patricia Adelmann, Research Promotion Manager, and she’ll be happy to give you specific information. Her phone number is 404/636-8400, ext. 1114 or email [email protected] ASHRAE Research benefits the HVAC&R industry in many ways. For example, results from the research program help shape and revise the ASHRAE Handbook, used by professionals like yourself in your own office and around the world. These research project results are incorporated into ASHRAE standards, ensuring more efficient buildings, business practices and a better quality of life for people from New York to Hong Kong. And, to make this data readily able to be found and used, the results are available in multiple formats to best suit the needs of ASHRAE Members and HVAC&R companies. You may also send your investment directly to the local ASHRAE Hamilton chapter to be forwarded to Atlanta. Please visit ASHRAE’s website at www.ashrae.org for more information on ASHRAE’s research and education programs. You may also make your investment online at ASHRAE’s website. Click the link on the left side of the home page labeled “Contribute Online”. Thank you in advance for your continued support of these vital research projects. Sincerely

Research Promotion Chair
