Virginia Beach Child Welfare Services
Integrated Trauma-Informed
Integrated Case Management Model: Team approach is utilized to coordinate various services and case work activities for children and families through solution-focused, trauma-informed, comprehensive, and sensible case planning. All team members work together to provide assessment, planning, monitoring and evaluation with child safety at the center of all activities. The team must include the family, resource parents, natural supports, HSD, and formal partners.
Our organization and division have and are adopting practices that recognize that cumulative trauma related factors can be at the core of safety and self-sufficiency challenges that our children and families face. We are adopting language that is strengths-based and utilizing services and supports that are trauma informed.
We strive to ensure that our team members recognize and address secondary trauma issues.
