AGE OF ARRIVAL: 16 years old
Alan arrived from Guatemala at the age of 16 as a legal permanent resident to reunite with his family. He is a young leader in his community and works dutifully with several organizations to empower his peers. Alan is high school senior preparing to go to college. But he is saddened by the reality that many of his peers are not granted the same opportunities despite the fact that they have worked just as hard as he has for the last 4 years because of their immigration status. It is for this reason and many more that Alan is just one of the young people in our state that is fighting to make the Dreams of other come true by joining his voice in support of In-State Tuition in MD.
