• 2013 OJ production has been the highest on record; most
plants ran at full capacity.
• It is estimated that FCOJ output was above 130K tons
• Mexico is the largest Organic OJ producer in the world
• Processing capacity has steadily increased during the last 4
years, however, there are no new orange trees being
planted.
• As in the 90’s, consolidation of the industry needs to take
place.
• HLB is drastically impacting Mexican/Key Lime producing areas in
western Mexico, however, it has rapidly spreaded over most of the
citrus growing areas
• No HLB has been detected in the 4 largest Orange growing states
• We have to assess damages from recent storms in all growing
areas
• Hurricane season is not over yet.
