ANMCC Newsletter – December ’16, Bumper Christmas edition (not!) As 2016 wends its way to the section ends markers, it falls on me to wish you all, dear readers, a happy Christmas and a healthy and happy 2017. I apologise that this is a rather truncated edition but all that beer isn’t going to drink itself! Our next event will be our Christmas trial (New Year Trial for the pedants), to be held, as usual, at the Pickling Yards, Mortimer West End on Bank Holiday Monday 2 nd January, start 11am. This is intended to be a friendly and festive event with the added bonus of complementary Hot Dogs and gluhwein. Come along to ride, observe or watch it’s a great friendly day out in the woods to close the Festive season. For those that can’t wait until next year, there is a fun trial at the Mortimer club’s scramble course on 27 th Dec, at Bennett’s Hill, Theale. Round 2 of the Club’s trials Championships was held on Saturday 12 th November, this was our annual Remembrance Day trial. Unfortunately this one will be remembered for being a miserable wet day and probably explains the disappointing turnout just shy of 20 riders. Although most modern trials bikes will run quite happily up to their handlebars in water, it would seem their pilots are less waterproof? Let’s hope the weather gods will smile on the Christmas trial. Forthcoming events 2017 2 nd Jan Round 3, Christmas/New year Trial, Pickling Yards 6 th Jan MCC Exeter long distance Trial, Popham Start 12 th Feb Mortimer Club’s Jack Englefield Trial, Bennett’s Hill 4 th March Round 4, Ellison’s 23 rd April Pathfinder , 3 stage trial, Frith Hill, Deepcut, Frimley Green 13 th May Round 5, Club Championships, Hermitage
