Early Life
He was born on May 18, in 1838. He was born in Ohio, probably in Pickaway County near
Circleville. He was also the oldest out of seven children. He was the son of Mary and Michael Miles.
Family
He grew up and got married to Candace Dunlap. She had two children already.
Alexander Miles and Candace Dunlap had a child named Grace.
Education
For most of his time he would open and close elevator doors and shaft doors.
He went to Rasmussen College.
Invention He invited a elevator with atomic doors.
The elevator doors open for us with a push of a button.
It also helps us by getting on the floor we want to be on quickly.
Changing our lives
The invention changed our life's by making us go on the floor we want to be on quickly.
Also we don't have to walk.
Death
He died May 7, 1918. His invention still helps us today.
Facts
It only takes a couple seconds to use the invention. The elevators we ride today still feature automatic shaft doors
similar to the invention Miles panted in 1887. Back then people would have to open and close the elevator
doors, but now they open on their own.
