Dear Parents and Caregivers, Hello, from a very wet Yr 5/6 Camp. Despite the weather being very wet and cold, our students have been giving their all to complete a variety of outdoor challenges. As the photos highlight, they have been very successful in accomplishing many of the tasks.
Congratulations to Leichhardt house for a successful swimming carnival. A fun day was had by everyone, with Leichhardt the clear victors. A big thank you to our older students who assisted with running the carnival and providing support for our younger students in the pool. A reminder that the next major sporting event is our Track and Field Carnival on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd April. Report Cards will be issued next week to students from Year 1 through to Year 10. Parent teacher interviews have been scheduled for Monday 1st April. Regular communication between parents and teachers is important to best assist our young people with their learning and educational needs. If you are unable to attend on Monday the 1st April but would like to speak with your child/children’s teacher or teachers please feel free to contact the school and an alternative time can be arranged. Tuesday the 26th of March at 1.45pm: 1500m for boys aged 13 years to Open.
Thursday the 28th of March at 1.40pm: 800m for students aged 10 years to Open.
Monday April 1st all day: 400m and Field Events (long jump, high jump, triple jump, discus,
javelin and shot put) for students aged 13 year to Open.
Tuesday April 2nd all day: All ages sprints and 200m for students aged 10 years to Open.

Cross Country
Friday the 5th April: Primary Cross Country and Junior Fun Run at 9.10-10-10

Year 8 students are busy making small dog kennels in Manual Arts.

Primary Arts Council performance
Making Friends
On Wednesday 6th March, the primary students from Dimbulah
and Mutchilba State Schools came together to watch an excellent
puppet show titled Making Friends. Karina, the puppeteer, told the
story of Louise who has moved interstate and has difficulties when
she tries too hard to fit in and make friends at her new school. The
puppet show showed the students how to deal with bullying, how
to build new friendships and how to fit in using a simple ABCs tool:
A: Ask if you can play.
B: Be polite and kind.
C: Co-operate
S: Smile and say hello.
The students enjoyed the performance and hopefully learned new strategies for making and
keeping friends.
