Dear Parishioners, On Monday, May 18th, Governor Baker allowed houses of worship to reopen. Praise God! On Tuesday, May 19th, the Archdiocese of Boston shared very comprehensive guidelines on how churches should prepare to safely resume the celebration of public Mass. Here are some of the most important details to be familiar with as our All Saints Family prepares to resume the celebration of Holy Mass in the Church. Please read over these guidelines carefully. Every person coming back to church needs to be attentive and respectful of these directives. They are very important for all of our safety. And as a Parish family, we all need to support each other. THE TOP TEN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
FOR MASS PARTICIPATION RIGHT NOW:
1. *CRITICAL IMPORTANCE*
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CHURCH IF YOU OR SOMEONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD IS FEELING SICK, ESPECIALLY WITH ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, OR HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE WHO HAS THE VIRUS.
2. THE SUNDAY OBLIGATION IS STILL DISPENSED.
Please pray with us at home if you or a member of your household are in an “at-risk” category.
3. WEAR A FACE MASK AT ALL TIMES.
This is an act of love to protect each other from possible asymptomatic spreading of the virus. Children under 2 should not wear a mask, and parents of children 2-5 years old should decide whether their child should wear a mask.
4. SOCIAL DISTANCE SEATING:
EVERY THIRD PEW IS AVAILABLE TO MAINTAIN 6-FOOT DISTANCING. To maximize space available, households of 4 or more are asked to sit front center.
5. FLOW OF FOOT TRAFFIC:
ENTER VIA THE FRONT ENTRANCE ONLY EXIT VIA THE SIDE ENTRANCES ONLY If you are in need of access to the handicap ramp side entrance, an usher will escort you individually.
6. NO CONGREGATIONAL SINGING: This will only remain in effect temporarily, until permission is given again. Then we will lift our voices to the Lord!

7. RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION
TAKE YOUR TIME! Please allow others to maintain proper spacing in the communion line.
FOLLOW THE DIRECTIVES OF THE USHERS to help us maintain traffic flow and social distancing. “MAKE A THRONE FOR THE KING” - Cardinal O’Malley is asking
Communicants to receive only on the hand at this time. HOW TO RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION AT THIS TIME: A) Extend your hands reverently. B) Wait for Father to gently place the host into your hands. C) Step off to the side with the host still in hand. D) Remove your mask and consume the Eucharist. E) Maintain social distancing on the return to the pew.
DO NOT MAKE HAND CONTACT WITH THE PRIEST OR EXTRAORDINARY MINISTER. If you do, Father or the EM will stop distributing communion and sanitize their hands before resuming the distribution of communion.
8. BULLETINS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE WAY OUT OF MASS.
9. WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER COMING TO MASS. THERE WILL
BE HAND SANITIZER AT ALL THE DOORS.
10. CONSIDER JOINING A CLEANING TEAM We need lots of volunteers to sanitize the church after every Mass. Many hands

As we recover from the pandemic, Daily Mass in English will be celebrated at 12:10 p.m. in the main church. This will enable attendees to help clean the church following any funeral Masses. Daily Masses will resume on Tuesday, May 26th at 12:10 pm.
The 6 pm Saturday Mass in Spanish and Daily Masses in Spanish will not begin again until Fr. Marcos has completed his service on the Covid-19 Priest response team. Thank you all for your prayers and understanding.—Fr. Chris

May 18, 2020 Archdiocese of Boston Statement on Phase-1 Re-Opening
Since the decision to suspend public Masses and gatherings due to COVID-19, the Archdiocese has been singularly focused on keeping people safe and doing our part to help mitigate the spread of the disease, consistent with guidance from state and local officials. Our priests and parish leaders, school principals, teachers and staff as well as our various social justice ministries have stayed strong during this pandemic and continue to be engaged with the faithful in various ways. Schools have con-ducted virtual classes, parishes have celebrated Mass via live streaming, programs such as marriage preparation have continued and parish food pantries are doing everything humanly possible to meet the dramatic increase in people seeking food. The announcement by the Governor this morning that the Commonwealth was beginning the process of re-opening is welcome news. The Archdiocese has consistently stated we will work collaboratively with local and state officials during this crisis and we will continue to comply with their guidance and mandates devised to restart community activity while continuing to fight the virus and keep people safe. Shortly after the Governor’s announcement we communicated a series of steps to our parishes that they must follow to adhere to both the state and Church requirements to re-open. That document is available by clicking here. The guidance, established by a working committee of priests, deacons and laity accompanies the decision today that parishes can resume Mass as of Saturday, May 23. Strict guidelines require that no more than 40% of the Church capacity can be in attendance, social distancing must be followed for pews and restrictions for the safe distribution of Communion must be in place. Weddings and funerals may proceed but with the similar restrictions. As stated in the Archdiocesan document released today, “If a parish within the Archdiocese of Boston, after careful and deliberate preparation, considers that they are able to meet all of the State, Municipal, and Archdiocesan guidelines, they may request permission from their Regional Bishop or Episcopal Vicar to begin Masses as early as Saturday evening, May 23. Many, or even most, parishes may well need more time to prepare, and may choose Sunday, May 31 (the Feast of Pentecost), as the date for their reopening. Parishes should not resume Masses before they are ready, and the decision to delay the resumption of Masses until May 31 may very well be the best decision for a parish. No matter what the start date, no parish should have Mass unless they can do it safely, and in compliance with the guidelines.” The dispensation from the Sunday Mass obligation will continue for the foreseeable future. Cardinal Seán strongly encourages people in vulnerable populations, especially the elderly and those with complicating physical conditions, to continue to watch Mass from their homes, on their parish’s social media or on CatholicTV. The days ahead will continue to be challenging for all. Our parishes, schools and ministries will be meeting these challenges in unprecedented ways. The return to the celebration of Masses and the sharing of the Eucharist will be welcome activities for the people of the Archdiocese as we proceed patiently and with caution in this first phase of reopening. We hope and pray that the steps undertaken by our public leaders and by the Church will be effective in preventing a new surge of the virus and we will remain vigilant in our efforts to keep people safe.

Thanks to the generosity of an All Saints parishioner, a beautiful book entitled Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary is available as our first book in our Front Porch Book Share. Bulletins and copies of The Pilot newspaper are also available each weekend. Please stop by the front steps of the rectory to take a copy for you and a friend. These are brand new, clean books. We will have other titles available in the coming weeks.

All Saints Food Pantry will remain open every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 10:00am to 12:00noon. No one is allowed inside the pantry, but a line is formed outside the rectory and we are handing out pre-bagged food.

Good Morning Pilgrims! I pray you and your families are healthy and well during this horrible pandemic. I want to let you know that I received an email from the Madonna House in Canada. They have cancelled all reservations through August 31st, 2020 as of right now along with any and all activities schedules at the Shrine. We are not even sure if the border will be reopened by then either. This was very disheartening news as I was happily looking forward to our pilgrimage this year as a fresh restart from being confined and away from everyone including Mass and the Eucharist...but it is not to be at this time so… we will place our trust in the Lord.
