The Allagash River is considered by many to be Maine’s best-known canoe route, and for good reason. Since Henry David Thoreau explored the waterway, paddlers from around the world have come seeking wilderness and adventure. The river is one of the few in the eastern United States that off ers a true remote paddling experience. Our journey will focus on the river poron of the trail, starng north of the larger lakes at the American Realty Road put in on the north end of Umsaskis Lake and heading downstream to the town of Allagash at the confluence of the St. John River. We’ll encounter quite a bit of moving water, with the occasional class 1 and 2 rapid, and a few portages. But our hard work will be well rewarded by some of the most spectacular vistas and best campsites in New England. Our goal with this trip is to provide a challenging yet relaxing, safe, educaonal and fun experience. Duraon: 5 Days/4 Nights Locaon: Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Maine Dates: September 3-7 Price: $700 per person Price includes two-person canoes, paddling equipment (PFDs, paddles, etc), all meals during your trip, group camping equipment (tents, utensils, etc), Professional Maine Guide(s) and transportaon to/from put in and take out.
