- An informal system of teaching-learning that aims to train and certify an individual to acquire expertise on a particular product making or enterprise.

An association of professionals or trade people – usually with an aim of providing education to learners or apprentices, representing the interests of their trade and encouraging high standards in the craft as well as carrying out charitable works.

A group of community experts on different fields regarded as emerging source of livelihood in a community that conducts informal way of teaching various enterprise to interested individuals for self improvement and cultural preservation.

• To regulate the local market. This took the form of control of the price and quality of goods. Membership conferred substantial advantages.

• Identify community experts and their fields• Conduct an interest-based assessment of

learners for groupings• Advocate the different fields of work for

learners’ pool of choices• Start with a master, to teach a pool of

trainers/learners or a group of masters to teach a group of trainees

• Arrange schedules between masters and their learners with facilitation of ALS implementers.

Infed passport - A document in a passport booklet form that reflects the competencies the owner/bearer has acquired after participating in an InfEd course.

InfEd- Passport • is a form of assessment that aims to :

• show progress• document skills learned• give credit to the training/ course finished• identify strengths

• Prepare a listing of competencies for each course.• At the end of the project cycle, the facilitator shall

hold an individual interview/conference with the InfEd participant.

• Using the listing, the facilitator will ask participants to assess the extent of mastery of each competency listed.

• The facilitator may provide suggestions to improve the competency not mastered or any area that the participant does not do well or need attention.

• Ask for other competencies that are not in the list and add these competencies. Make positive comments about learning these additional competencies.

• Review and sort out the competencies that the participant can do well/mastered.

• Copy all these competencies that the participant can demonstrate and opposite describe the level of skills demonstrated (mastered, more practice, needs improvement. etc.)

• Acquire essential life-skills knowledge and attitudes to enable them to improve their general well-being and quality of life as individuala and as members of the community; and

• Develop multiple intelligences needed to cope with desired emerging needs, problems and issues and other future-oriented skills/interests
