The purpose of the SOE program is to assist in identifying and recognizing outstanding sires and dams of the breed. This will be accomplished on the basis of show ring placing of their offspring. The SOE shows shall be the “picture window” events of the year for PAUS.

Only Full bloods and Purebreds will be allowed to show in SOE shows. Purebreds are stated as the following: 15/16 Piedmontese or higher for females and 31/32 or higher for males. All Purebreds shall have the color and characteristics of the Piedmontese breed to show in PAUS SOE Shows.

All animals must be registered with one of the Associations; if the animal is not registered, they can show with an affidavit.

An affidavit is only good for one show and for a breeder to receive an affidavit on an animal the following must be completed:

1. Cattle registration application must be paid for and in the PAUS office. 2. Hair must be received by Geneseek, Inc.

NOTE: No animal over a year of age will be issued an affidavit.

At SOE shows, other than the breed’s National Show, SOE points are credited to both the sire and dam of a calf in individual classes. The National Show points will be double the amounts shown below. Points will be awarded as follows:

Senior / Junior Yearling Pregnancy Rule for Exhibitors at All shows: Any Senior/Junior Yearling female 28 months of age or older on or before the date of the show must have a registered purebred natural calf at side and must be shown with calf. If purebred Senior/Junior Yearling has a Shorthorn Plus calf at side, it is not eligible for the Purebred Shorthorn Show, however it is eligible for the Shorthorn Plus show if such show is available. All females 20 months of age on or before the date of the Super Regional show need to have a 60-day pregnancy verification signed by an accredited, non-owner veterinarian at the time the female is processed for the show. Exhibitors may be asked to present said verification upon the request of the Show officials or ASA representatives. If verification cannot be produced, the female may be allowed to participate if the exhibitor can produce a qualified veterinarian to examine the female at the show site, and verify a 60-day pregnancy. Any infractions against this rule will lead to disqualification of that animal for that specific show.
