A very relaxed day spent in the lovely Alvecote Woods. 16th June: How to prepare and manage a camp fire. Spend the day at Alvecote wood and learn the basic techniques of lighting and managing a camp fire. You will learn how to select appropriate wood for burning, useful ways of lighting your fire from both natural and man-made sources and learn simple cooking techniques on the open fire. 18th May: Using tools and working with green wood. A whole day spent looking at the basic principles of green wood working. We will show you how to select and harvest green wood in a sustainable way, use tools to turn your piece of wood into a useful and interesting object.
