MARCH 2013 Johan Skalberg: Perth visit, seminars

Advanced Martial Arts and Fitness’ FMA students embraced a great op-portunity to learn from Kali Sikaran Founder Punong Guro Johan Skalberg during his tour to Australia last month. Punong Guro Skalberg conducted several seminars as well

as taught classes at AMAF. He graded instructor Berina Kapetanovic (Beki) to Madunong Guro, second degree black belt. Beki now crosses over to the dark side, awarded a black instructors shirt.

Achievement: Beki was awarded her second degree black belt and black shirt.

Kids Orange Belt Grading AMAF has seven new junior orange belts (pictured above) after a successful kids Karate grading last month. These students will now join our advanced team and train on Monday and Wednesdays.

In the Ring Fighters DJ Bowron and Eric Angeli-que stepped into the ring on the Ori-gins fight card last month.

DJ had an exciting win while Eric put on a strong show, eventually losing out on points in a hard fought bout. The next test for our fight team is WKA Fight Night on March 23 where DJ and Ben Bunker have secured opponents. Eric is also keen to step into the ring on the night, but is awaiting a match-up. All AMAF members are urged to at-tend and show support by wearing their club shirts.
