COMMUNITY Artis Senior Living of Mason is located on 4.5-acre site in Mason, Ohio — a northeast suburb of Cincinnati.

The project broke ground in December 2013 and will be dedication in January 2015. The community will begin accepting resi-dents in February 2015. Dan Dokken, AIA of Wichita, Kansas is the architect and HGC Construction of Cincinnati, Ohio is the general contractor.

INTERIOR The design was refined through 20 years of operational experience catering to individuals affected by memory loss and other

forms of dementia.

Several of the interior features include smaller-scale spaces, residential finishes, and the use of themes for queuing and location recognition.

The community is designed to enhance residents’ cognition and the quality of life by creating a welcoming environment that feels like home.

The residence is comprised of four “neighborhoods” — Hopewell, Kings Island, Mill Creek and Miami Valley — and a “Neighborhood Square”.

The neighborhoods contain living areas that have unique identities and visual décor to ease resident anxiety through familiar surroundings. Each neighborhood has a homelike entry, dining room, open kitchen, family room, and easy access to a spacious and secure outdoor area.

Resident rooms are furnished with a full-size bed, night stand, dresser, lamp, and chair. Residents are also welcome to bring their own furnishings.

A Neighborhood Square connects to the four neighborhoods and features an arts and crafts studio, dedicated entertainment area, health center, and a beauty salon/barber shop. The Neighborhood Square provides opportunities for larger gatherings and activities such as exercise, religious services, entertainment, and access to outdoor courtyards.

MASON FACT SHEET, CONT. EXTERIOR The building’s exterior features a single story, wood-framed residence with a pitched roof.

Secure, spacious outdoor courtyards and resident-safe landscaping allow residents to move freely throughout the property with walking paths, gardens, and comfortable seating areas. 

ACCOMODATIONS

Our team of senior care professionals and licensed nurses are onsite 24 hours per day. Each resident receives specialized care and support for their individual needs, including assistance with activities of daily living and medication management.

The residence is equipped with state-of-the-art security and emergency systems.

Healthy meals are served daily in a homelike environment, with hydration stations set up throughout the residence for nutritional support.

Amenities include daily maid service and trash removal; weekly housekeeping and linen service; as well as personal laundry ser-vice.
