  • 86.4 percent of American Pitbull Terriers passed temperament beating Golden Retrievers, Beagles, Poodles and many other breeds. (Kennedy, 2) American Pitbull Terriers originated in England around the 19th century and made their way to America. (Bixler, 48) American Pitbull Terriers were used for dogfighting in England until it got banned in 1835. (Bixler, 48) Pitbulls were eventually respected by their owners, and they started to work livestock and hunt. (Bixler, 48)

  • Pitbulls are the most frowned upon dogs in the United States. (Tullis, par. 2) They are the least adopted dogs and the ones who get euthanized the most. (Tullis, par. 2) Pitbulls are very loving and require a lot of your attention, so be ready to devote your time and attention to them if youre thinking about owning a Pitbull. American Pitbull Terriers are noted for being devoted to their owners, and it appears their owners are equally devoted to their dogs. (Bixler, 50) Fun fact: Petey (the dog from The Little Rascals) was a Pitbull. (Tullis)

  • There are regulations to owning a Pitbull. $100,000 liability policy. They must be up to date on their shots in order for them to be out in public. No one under the age of 18 can walk them on a leash. You are required to have proof of insurance on the dog. And so much more. It is hard to get homeowners/renters insurance at some places if you have a Pitbull in the house. (Cohen, 285)

  • The media plays a huge role in why so many people discriminate Pitbulls. (Cohen, 286) Most of the things you see are negative, never anything positive. (Cohen, 286) In WWI, Pitbulls represented the United States, and one of them was called a hero for saving many of his companions. (Bixler, 49)

  • SCRAPPER AND CHOPPER. Scrapper is two years old, and full of energy. He loves to play fetch. Chopper is a year old, and loves to give handshakes, and snuggle. They get along really well with each other. Chopper is kind of that annoying little brother that always wants to play. Matts sister lives next door, and has two small children, and the boys are so good with them. The dogs are always giving them kisses, and chasing them around to play. They absolutely love the water, and could play in it for hours.

  • Scrapper and Chopper love to be outside; rain or shine. One of them will actually walk the other on a leash when we go for walks. They wanted to be outside, but then soon realized that it was pouring rain out, but they didnt care. Chopper is walking Scrapper after playing in the creek. Scrapper didnt want to leave because he knew it was bath time when we got home.

  • They always have to be right next to you, and always have to know what youre doing. Wherever there is one dog, the other is not far behind. One thing they need to work on is how to share the toys. If Scraper has the rope, Chopper will try to take it from him, and vice versa.

  • Pitbulls can be very good companion dogs if you show them that you truly care and love them, and they will show you the same as well. Now I will leave you to decide if you really think American Pitbull Terriers are viscous dogs. How can you not love these cute little faces?
