1. Sun – the energy source that fuels a food chain.

2. Producer –plants convert the sun’s energy into food by a process known as photosynthesis.

Herbivore – an organism that eats only producers.

Carnivore – an organism that eats only other consumers.

Omnivore – an organism that eats both producers and consumers

Scavenger – eats dead organisms.

– an organism that feeds on dead or decaying matter and breaks down the nutrients into the soil making them available for use.
