Purpose

To Acknowledge and integrate many educational skills

Involve with all related subjects in different ages and kinds of learners

The reasons why I chose English site f or ages 1 6 +

• overall attractive and colorful websites •contained with interesting and challenging games which are created and suited for different levels

• there are a significant skill of reading (scanning) • to encourage and challenge the higher learners to analyze and find out the answers.

Procedure Pre- computer work

Teacher begins with questions about the detective movies or cartoons. Ask the students with the following questions; for examples

• Have you ever seen the detective movies or cartoons before?

• Do you like the role of detective in movies or cartoons? Why or why not?

• What is the important role of detective? Why?• Would you like to be as a detective? Why or why not? • If you were a detective for one day, what kind of case

do you like to do? Why?

Introduce the students with the website for additional challenging activities on website http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/words/reading/techniques/scanning/game.shtml

• Teacher explains how to get into this site and the games instruction briefly

• Students search this website and may find out the other sites to assist them to look up the word from clues that you don’t know.

Lesson plan

Computer work The class is divided in pairs Students follow the directions to act as a detective to find

out all of answers in cluesheet and also determine “who killed Angela Spelling?”

• To start, click http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/words/reading/techniques/scanning/game.shtml

• Students receive cluesheet which is needed to complete all of the answers.

• Click green circle icon to play the game. (Each pair has 40 minutes to scan the clues, after clicking the icon)

• Choose “no timer” button for the question “Which speed would you like to play?”

• Read the information and instruction carefully. Then follow its step to find out and collect the evidence and clue.

• Use the map of building in Sleazeville to bring you to significant place of murder.

Lesson plan

Post- computer work Students have to scan the clues and check your

answer again in cluesheet, then decide to choose who is the murderer? (within 5 minutes)

Each pair reports their answers including the reasons to the class.

Evaluation Students will be evaluated based on;
