The thickness has been reduced and the internal flange removed

This sleeve has a more consistent cross section, making the loading on the sleeve more uniform

New design allows the sleeve to better conform to the pressure field produced by the oil film

Distributes the load over a larger areaThe result is a higher average bearing pressure: 4000 psi (27.6 MPa) under normal operational conditions and 4351 psi (30 MPa) under optimum conditionsKL is 3556 (24.5 MPa)
