TNF Trustees' Report
TNF Chennai, over the last three decades, has implemented about 560 projects, in accordance with its objectives, to render assistance to the needy. In 2012 – 13, we have received ̀ 13753745.00 and spent appx. ̀ 12272882.00 for the 41 projects under implementation. Details of a few major projects are presented hereunder (Project name, Location, Amount received, Total Cost – values in ̀ Lakhs):
TNF TNC has identified “Empowering Youth” as one of the major thrust areas, by providing Training and Workshops to impart soft skills to succeed. 450 youth have been further trained to better their employability. Special coaching in 18 schools covering 1200 students was organized during this year.
The Genetic lab has carried out Genetic testing and counseling to more than 200 needy patients in Tamil Nadu.
Our efforts to generate additional funds to improve the four areas of our work mainly in rural belt are progressing. TNF is actively considering donor sponsored projects – Mother India Nursery and Primary School at Thanjavur and Government High School, Jaganathapuram at Thiruvallur for construction of school buildings and also Water tank project at Peranamallur at Thiruvannamalai district for implementation.
Chairman, Trustees, Center Coordinator and President TNF USA visited Laia Foundation at Vedanthangal a major community based Overseas project.
A seven minute film on the “Success stories of TNF” was produced. A Computer Lab was constructed at St. Joseph Matriculation School, Thanjavur and handed over to the School Management.
Chairman, Trustees, Treasurer and Executive Director went on an exposure visit to NTTF, Bangalore to initiate short term job skill training programmes at TNF center for rural and urban Youth.
We wish to place on record our appreciation for the services rendered by the TNF Chennai Team.
We thank the TNF Members and other Donors who have supported us in carrying out the objectives of TNF.
Though we have made progress over the years, as we go along, we feel this is only a beginning.

Training conducted by Master trainers selected by TNF in collaboration with NTTF s
EMPOWERING YOUTH
Soft Skills to Succeed, a Program conducted by TNF
Training of Trainers (ToT)
Experienced people from various institutions / social sectors were
trained as Master trainers by NTTF
Held 3 days training and one refresher training
25 trainers took active part and provided the training in selected schools
Main aim of the ToT was to reach out to more number of students
through TNF’s own team in the upcoming years

Center for Medical Genetics (CMG) is a non-profit, service oriented professional genetic testing laboratory in Chennai. So far we have reached to,
More than 200 patients in TamilNadu
Patients referred by both Private and Government hospitals in Chennai & Madurai
Around 40% of the total cases offered free Genetic testing and Genetic Counseling services
Genetic testing aided in confirming the diagnosis in most of our patients
In most of our cancer patients, genetic test results aided in designing the treatment for cancer
patients
Around 14 undergraduate students from various Universities were given three weeks
hands - on training in HUMAN CYTOGENETIC ANALYSIS this summer at our center
