Re; 2014 Annual Report of the Justice Reinvestment Oversight Group

On behaJf of the· Justice Reinvestment Oversigh Group, I am submiitting for your

consideration the Justice Reinvestment Oversight Group Annual Repo.r1 for 2014. The

reportis to be submitted arumally pursuant to Executive Order#40. The Justice

Reinvestment Oversight Group oversees the Implementation of SB 226 which was passed

du.ring the 1461h session of the General Assembly and sjgned into law. The Oversight

Group, chaired by Justice James Vaughn Jr., met twice during 2014 and reviewed the

implementation efforts of courts and criminal justice agencies required by SB 226.

The report ·umrnarizes the implementation efforts of courts, the Department of

Correction, and the Statistical Analysis Center as required by SB 226. It also includes

materials offered as guidance to the Oversight Group by partner the Vera Institute of Justice.
