Message from the 2017 Conference Chairs
As your primary care foot specialists representatives in the province, we have been very busy preparing a
comprehensive and world class program, encompassing many areas of Podiatric Medicine.
One of the OSC mandates, include provision of continuing education. Our goal is to provide the highest pro-
fessional standards to further the profession through educational development. The speakers we have gath-
ered include doctors who have lectured across the globe and are respected leaders in the industry. Our 2017
conference schedule includes Dr. Kevin Kirby, Dr. Louis DeCaro, Dr. Stephanie Wu, and Dr. Clifton Bradeley.
The areas of focus we will be presented include biomechanics, pod-pediatrics, the diabetic foot, wound
care, practice management, health and safety and human resources.

Social Event At 7pm on May 5th buses will leave from the Centre for Health and Safety for a social event held at Smash
Ping Pong Lounge, in Toronto. The $45 fee will cover your transportation to and from the lounge, entry to

Welcome to the Profession Event
At 5:15 on May 6th the OSC will be hosting a Welcome to the Profession event for the 2017 graduates. During
this event each student will receive a comprehensive package from the OSC containing everything neces-
sary to begin their Chiropody careers.

OSC 2017 Conference—Presenter Biographies
Kevin Kirby DPM
Dr. Kevin Kirby graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1983
and completed his first year surgical residency at the Veteran’s Administration
Hospital in Palo Alto, California. He spent his second post-graduate year doing the
Fellowship in Podiatric Biomechanics at CCPM where he also earned his MS degree.
Dr. Kirby has authored or co-authored 27 articles in peer-reviewed journals, has
authored or co-authored five book chapters, and has authored four books on foot
and lower extremity biomechanics and orthosis therapy, all of which have been
translated into Spanish language editions. He has invented the subtalar joint axis
palpation technique, the anterior axial radiographic projection, the supination
resistance test, the maximum pronation test and the medial heel skive and lateral
heel skive orthosis techniques. He has also created and developed the Subtalar
Joint Axis Location and Rotational Equilibrium Theory of Foot Function and has co-developed the Subtalar
Joint Equilibrium and Tissue Stress Approach to Biomechanical Therapy of the Foot and Lower Extremity. He
has lectured internationally on 37 separate occasions and has also lectured extensively throughout the
United States.
Dr. Kirby is a member of the editorial advisory board for the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical
Association and is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Biomechanics at
the California School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kirby has had a full time podiatric biomechanics and
surgical practice in Sacramento, California for 31 years.
Clifton Bradeley MSK DpodM—CPS Sports Pod, Cert.
Electrosurgery
Clifton Bradeley is a practitioner of twenty-six years experience in clinical
musculoskeletal podiatric biomechanics. He has carried out more than
15,000 biomechanical assessments to date.
As an ex-international athlete for England and Great Britain, Clifton held
the British indoor mile record of 3.57.88 min/sec. (England V USA in March
1985), becoming the first GB athlete to run Sub-4 minutes for the mile on
an English indoor track.
Clifton was raised bare footed in Australia before moving to the UK as a
child, and uses his twenty-six years experience in sports injuries to create ‘Injury Risk (IR) Prediction’ in
professional athletes and footballers from all over the world.
Clifton has won several innovation awards for developing techniques and instruments used in clinical
biomechanics. This includes a Digital Pelvic Inclinometer (DPI) used to quantify the affects of leg length
inequality on pelvic dysfunction before and after treatment.
Clifton is currently the managing director of orthotics lab Sub-4 Ltd, and technology company, Sub-4
Technologies and also works as a consultant to a number of sports brand names including NIKE and many
professional sports clubs. He is on a worldwide tour talking about his theory based on clinical experience
called – ‘The Pelvic Equilibrium Theory’.
Louis DeCaro DPM
Louis J. DeCaro. DPM is a Podiatric Physician who specializes in pediatrics with a special
interest in sports medicine and biomechanics for both adults and pediatrics. Dr. DeCaro
is President and fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Pediatrics (ACFAP). Dr.
DeCaro is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in
Podiatry. He also shares a patent on foot types.
He is in private practice in West Hatfield and a member of the surgical & medical staff at
Franklin Medical Center as well as Holyoke Medical Center.
Dr. DeCaro is the Director and originator of the Adult & Pediatric Gait Labs Biomechanics
Clinic, which takes place biweekly at his West Hatfield office. It is a multidisciplinary clinic,
which evaluates the most challenging of biomechanics patients, and helps to find them
answers through orthoses and therapy.

Stephanie Wu DPM, MSc
Dr. Stephanie Wu is the Associate Dean of Research, Professor, Department of Podiatric
Surgery and Applied Biomechanics, Professor, Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative
Medicine, and Director, Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR) for Dr.
William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine
and Science.
Dr. Wu devotes significant time to CLEAR’s fellowship program, international fellowship
program, and Scholl’s Masters in wound healing program which is an international
collaboration with Cardiff University. For her efforts in education,
Dr. Wu has received many awards at Rosalind Franklin University including the Dean’s Award and the
Lawrence R. Medoff Award for Outstanding Performance in Research, Teaching, and Clinical Practice. Dr.
Wu led the effort in helping secure podiatry’s first NIH T-35 training grant for the training of future podiatric
researchers at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. In addition to her clinical and university
duties Dr. Wu is a highly sought after lecturer at national and international forums.
Krista Prevost BSc, DCh
Krista Prevost B.Sc(kin), D.Ch graduated from the Chiropody program at the Michener
Institute in 2007. Since then, she has continued to enhance her education with
specialized training in Foot Mobilisation Therapy and in Nail Brace Therapy.
She is the owner of Bloor West Foot Clinic where she works with a focus on these
alternative therapies.
When not fixing feet, Krista can be found on Lake Ontario on her paddleboard or curled
up on the couch with her knitting needles.
Brad Norris MEd – Head Rocktape Instructor
At 6’3” and with a commanding presence, Brad is hard to miss and that’s a
good thing because he also happens to be an outstanding educator. When
Brad speaks, people want to listen.
As a former member of the Canadian Olympic Bobsleigh Program, Brad
brings a unique perspective as an athlete and clinician to the human
performance landscape.
He has a Master’s Degree in exercise physiology and biomechanics. He is an
acupuncturist, fascial stretch therapist, kinesiology taping and fascial abrasion practitioner. As founder
of PowerTek Fitness, Brad has served as a strength and conditioning / human performance consultant
working with athletes at every level of sport including the OHL, NHL, CFL and National / NCAA teams for
over 25 years. He has lectured extensively on the science of exercise prescription, movement efficiency and
performance optimization in an effort to bridge the gap between training and rehabilitation.
Kathy Stinson - Owner of Strive Leadership and Business Consulting
Entering business via the veterinary profession as a Registered Veterinary Technician,
Kathy’s leadership and management skills, lead her to becoming a hospital
administrator that transformed a struggling practice to a top performer under her
management tenure. The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) took
notice of Kathy’s success and invited her to develop and instruct a full day workshop
for them.
Kathy now speaks and consults full–time across Canada helping professionals
become stronger leaders, to create profitable businesses and have healthy, positive
workplace cultures. Kathy speaks to groups of all sizes and backgrounds; from large
professional conferences to private workplace teams.
Kathy has also developed the Strive Veterinary Management School, a premier management training
program designed specifically for veterinary owners and managers to reach their full potential.
In 2017, her school will expand outside the non-veterinary field to all professional business owners and

Juliet Morris CPA, CMA
Juliet has spent over 20 years working in business in a variety of roles spanning most
business functions: sales, marketing, operations, and management. She has been
responsible for building departments and teams mainly in the food and publishing
industries. She has a wealth of experience analyzing information for trends and predictive
data. Recently she obtained her certification as a CPA, CMA and decided to put her
considerable planning and analytical skills to use working directly with individuals, families
and members of the business community through Investors Group.

Jeff Jensen, DPM, FACFAS – Derma Sciences Medical Director
Dr. Jeffrey Jensen serves as dean and professor of podiatric medicine and surgery for the
Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Physician Assistant Program. He came to
Barry University from private practice in Denver, Colorado, where he has been the owner
and clinical director of the Diabetic Foot and Wound Center since 1994. Dr. Jensen
earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric
Medicine and completed his surgical residency training at Kern Hospital in Warren, Michi-
gan. From 2000-2001, Dr. Jensen served as Externship and Research Director at North Col-
orado Podiatric Surgical Residency. He has also been an Assistant Professor at the Universi-
ty of Colorado, Health Science Center since 1995. An active researcher, Dr. Jensen has been the principle in-
vestigator of more than 35 multi-center-clinical trials for wound care related drugs and medical devices.
Shawn Grainger BSc– Derma Sciences Territory Manager

The goal of the mediation committee is to act as an advisory system to practitioners on what to do in order to
avoid any further investigation, complication and escalation of a patient’s complaint.
