Fall and Rise

Chapter 29

“Every day I fall, but every day I stand up.”

Chico Xavier*

* Book: Chico Xavier Prayers

Maybe, when you face this chapter, you've fallen somehow. Fallen into a bed, the victim of atrocious disease. Fallen in prison, sentenced to despair.

Fallen on guilt, stuck to the judgment of own conscience. Fallen in solitude by the abandon of the beloved. Fallen into nostalgia by the leaving of a loved one. Fallen in failure for an opportunity that was lost ....

Whatever the reason we find ourselves lying on the ground of inertia or despair, the lesson that Chico Xavier offers us is to get up as soon as possible.

This is because if we remain fallen, will do anything for the benefit of ourselves.

The time of the fall does not symbolize what we are, nor represents the end of our life. It's just a photograph that registers a particular moment, but that does not define the next scenes that will make the movie of our existence.

Let us not allow our lives to stop on that picture. Let’s not be parked in grief, guilt, shame, despair and fear of living.

Let's return to life. Let the film roll, let’s depart for other pictures, new scenes, as this will only happen if you stand up with courage and faith.

Any fall may represent pain and shame for any of us. However, in the evolutionary stage in which we find on the planet, only Jesus had strong legs not to fall morally ...

Our legs are still weak that the fall will strengthen.

Jesus is standing his hands to us, inviting us to raise right now. We should not wait by will.

Do what it needs to be done, the desire always come later.

The end
