PARTNERSHIPS IN DRUG DELIVERY
PARTNERSHIPS IN DRUG DELIVERY "Bob is a master at asking questions that lead to innovations that change the world. Over and over again, Bob has built and led incredible teams to solve critical unmet medical needs“ -----Justin Hanes
"Bob, by his own example and his constant encouragement, has created a culture in his MIT lab that students and post-docs want to be a part of. One would be hard-pressed to find a lab with this combination of science, creativity, productivity, and enthusiasm anywhere else in the world.“ -----John Santini MicroCHIPS, OnDemand, ApoGen Biotechnologies, Inc.
PARTNERSHIPS IN DRUG DELIVERY “Bob is an excellent scientist, a highly prolific inventor, and an extremely successful entrepreneur. He is also a great mentor to many of us. His passion to make a different has been and will always be an inspiration to me.” -----Hongming Chen
“When I asked Bob how achieved his success, he looked straight at me and said "I surround myself with people who are smarter than me". ?????? . It was shocking to hear this statement so matter-of-factly coming from him, as Bob is the smartest person I know. With that statement, he takes away the awe. While many of us feel that we are in the presence of pure genius, he flips it back and makes one feel that we are just as smart - which is empowering. His statement made me feel that he believed in me and motivated me to work that much harder to meet his expectations.” -----Kathryn Uhrich
PARTNERSHIPS IN DRUG DELIVERY “Bob gave me advice when I was starting my independent career. He said that good researchers know how to answer scientific questions, but great researchers know which questions to ask. Bob is a master at identifying the important questions to work on.” -----Mark Prausnitz
“One take-home lesson for me was recognizing that science really is a team sport - one that requires multiple talents from a diverse group, with people who are not afraid to make mistakes.” -----Kathryn Uhrich
PARTNERSHIPS IN DRUG DELIVERY “Bob always, no matter how crazy or busy he was, made time for his students. He allowed us to meet with him when we needed his input, his advice, or just his moral support. I always felt that I had his full and enthusiastic support, and that is so critical to a young person. The best compliment I can give to him is that I have tried to model my own interactions with students and fellows as closely as possible to the great example he provided to me.” -----David Mooney
“What is amazing about Bob is the enormous enthusiasm, the ability to find the brightest people to work with and constantly motivate them.” -----Edith Mathiowitz
PARTNERSHIPS IN DRUG DELIVERY
“Bob’s approach to science in terms of thinking of big ideas and following up on them with contagious enthusiasm and relentless efforts is truly inspirational and is the prime reason that me and generations of other students have chosen to pursue an academic career” -----Samir Mitagotri
