My favorite beer, favorite waves,favorite people and

favorite fishing spots are all found in Mexico.

Even my wife is Mexican.

So, granted I spend a lot of time across

the border, it just figures that I would

get held up by a cartel on one of my

trips. But that’s another story all

together.Here are some select

shots from my last two trips

into a few areas you don’t

see very often.

stuck it out when shit hit the fan down there. He was a good sport and made the most of it. Looking back now, we can laugh — but man were we shitting ourselves.

I think I heard a few calls like, “I want to get married here,” or “Man we’re never leaving.”

We drove for hours to find this mental wave.It was a perfect wedge with no one out. Tubes and a few air sections. I was in heaven. Taylor had the worst luck with the cartel. They took his “empty backpack” but ended up taking his passport too. Luckily, he made it out with a new one in time.

I was really impressed by alex on this trip. The boards he rides are so damn big. I’d love to see anyone challenge him to a heat with one of those giant single fins.

These dudes were nowhere to be found. This road was right behind our house. No one gives a shit around that area.

I’d be scared to be these guys. the cartels are way more ruthless.

Damien and I live together and combined forces.

I’d say we’ve retold the robbery story at least 400 times.

We still had a good time after our nightmare.

I asked a local artist to draw a caricature of me during dinner one night. I guess he thought I looked like John Heder’s character from Blades of Glory.

all things considered, taylor held it together pretty well on the trip.

I heard Charlie Sheen just bailed Lindsay Lohan out.
