3rd Annual
You’re Invited to a truly Enchanting Evening!
But where in the world do you start? How will you transform a stack of paper and a bul-letin board living in your smartphone into the wedding of your dreams without turning into Bridezilla in the process?
The third annual Enchant Me, The QC Wed-ding Event, has your back. It will take place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the University Club QC, 1518 5th Ave., Moline. Tick-ets are $7 in advance, and they are available at QCOnline.com/enchantme and at the customer service counter at The Dispatch/Argus, 1720 5th Ave., Moline.
Enchant Me — presented by The Dispatch/Argus/QCOnline, University Club QC and Taylor-DeBord Catering — will offer more than you might expect from a typical bridal show. It will feature a fun, girls’-night-out atmosphere, and attendees will be pampered while they visit with representatives of area wedding businesses and learn about what each has to offer.
“By design, there’s something for everyone planning their special day,” said Valerie Yazbec, chief revenue oficer for the Moline Dispatch Pub-lishing Co. “The size of this wedding event allows for casual conversation with the vendors and is a great opportunity to learn from their experience.”
Ms. Yazbec said she is very pleased with the variety of vendors that will be on hand.
“I think the success of the event is largely due to the intimacy and elegance of the venue,” she said. “Enchant Me offers attendees the oppor-tunity to enjoy luxurious Old World ambiance while learning about fun, trendsetting ideas for weddings.”
Attendees will be served complimentary hors d’oeuvres and sparkling wine while they enjoy

food and wedding cake samples, along with an up-close look at wedding attire and favors, Ms. Yazbec said. Brides-to-be and their friends and family members can feel fabrics and linens, and see table arrangements, lowers, centerpieces and other decor.
Katie Otten, manager at Lagomarcino’s in Moline, said the company will showcase a small sampling of the vari-ous favor boxes it carries, as well as some of its chocolates.
“We’re handing out samples of chocolates as well,” she said.
Ms. Otten said Lagomarcino’s offers favor boxes in a number of colors so brides and grooms may choose whatever matches their colors or theme. The boxes hold one, two or four pieces of candy.
Ms. Otten said the folks at Lagomarcino’s enjoy Enchant Me and what it does for area brides and grooms and their families. “It’s a little more elegant. We just like ... the pres-ence of it,” she said.
It’s a smaller show, she said, which makes it easier for attendees to talk with vendors. Plus, a number of the ven-dors who will be in attendance are from the downtown Moline area.
It shows attendees that “downtown Moline has stuff to offer for weddings,” she said.
Lisa Bragg, retail store manager at Skefington’s Formal Wear in Davenport, said Skefington’s plans to show attendees tuxes in navy and various grays, as well as an “upcoming new one that is available for next year, which is a burgundy.”
Ms. Yazbec promised that people who attend the show will not be disappointed.
“Our wedding specialists participating in this event are truly the best the Quad-Cities has to offer,” she said.
