Ideas about Sketching

Remember that sketching can be done nearly anywhere at anytime.

True sketches do not have to be “photo-realistic”, sketches are drawings that describe ideas and moods.

Your hand is not a drawing machine, it will need training.

Your sketching will improve over time; never remove anything from your sketch book as this reduces your ability to see the progress that is being made.

By varying the pressure on the pencil, different densities can be made

By varying the angle of the pencil, different widths of lines can be made

Let’s Get Started – Contour Drawing

Contour drawing is drawing the outline. This is to focus only on the overall shape of the object.main reason of the drawing is to define the proportionsMinimal detail will be representedmain reason of the drawing is to define the proportions

Select a single viewpoint and stick to it.Sit so that they can reach there paper with minimal movement.Always have their head in the same place whenever they look at the object

This will keep the shapes in the same locaton at all times small movement = big differences
