• Duration: 01/01/2012 – 31/12/2013 o Extension: 31/12/2014 for two actions (survey on mosquito trap and malaria

surveillance in Regional Unit of Lakonia)

• Aim development of an Integrated Control programme related to WNV(surveillance for human cases, mosquito surveillance, avian surveillance, and equine surveillance) and malaria (surveillance for human cases, mosquito surveillance).

General objectives regarding malaria

• Detection and mapping of plasmodium activity

• Assessment of malaria impact on public health

• Detection of high risk geographical areas

Actions of MALWEST programme for malaria according to Work Packages (WP)

• Kick-off meeting: 26-27 January 2012

• Stratification of Greece in four risk levels for malaria (0, 1, 2, 3)
