TODAY AT NAZARETH

Who is Nazareth? Our Mission Statement Living together in God's amazing grace, we invite all people to know Christ, grow in Christ, and make Christ known.

Our Vision Getting our hands dirty for the cause of Christ.

Our Values Holy Discontent - Righting What's Wrong

Responsiveness - Action, Not Apathy

Relationships - We Are Better Together

Leading Beyond Our Walls - Around the Corner, Around the World

Our Congregational Intention To prepare every person to become a fully committed follower of Christ.

To make the love of God real for people.

To excel in our stewardship of God’s gifts and resources.

The flowers at the altar are in celebration of all of God's many

blessings to the Nazareth family of faith.

Hospitalized: David Lorenson, Cruz Begalske, Bev Saak, Carmen

Gutmann, Lorainne Elliott, Leon Skubina, and Vick Kamienski

Our Deepest Sympathy to Elaine Prail and her family as they mourn

the death of her brother; and to Aaron and Christie Sannes and their

family as they grieve the death of Aaron's father.

Today is Ingathering Sunday. In-gatherings are community

celebrations when God's people gather to praise and thank the Lord for

all the grace and provisions God has lavished upon us and make bold

faith promises of our time, talent and treasures in hope and affirmation

that through our discipleship and generosity Jesus and the Holy Spirit

will continue to be at work in the next year to multiply faith and

compassion to a world He loves and redeems. In appreciation of the

many blessings received from God – and to help Nazareth plan for its

ministry projects and programs in 2020 - we encourage all Nazareth

community members to complete your Financial Pledge Forms and

your Serve Volunteer Commitment forms and to submit them today

during the worship services. These can be also be delivered to the

Nazareth office any time this week. With questions, please email

Nazareth’s Finance Manager, Jan Glaspie, at jan.glaspie@naz.org.

WORSHIP SERMON NOTES SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

ALL IN ALL: Press Forward and Quit Quitting

Hebrews 12:1-3 and Luke 9:57-62

Explore the texts for this week and reflect on/discuss these questions:

How does Hebrews 12: 1-3 call us to a higher level of devotion and

commitment, even when times get tough?

Mark Batterson says the following about going all out for the Lord:

It ‘s not a sprint..

It’s a marathon.

It doesn’t seek fifteen minutes of fame.

It seeks eternal glory.

It doesn’t care about public opinion.

It lives for the applause of nail-scarred hands.

It’s not satisfied with what the world has to offer.

It’s only objective is My Utmost for His Highest.

How does this kind of attitude fly in the face of a modern culture which

thinks short-term with its “pay me now” mindset?

What is your next step in your journey of following Jesus with passion and

commitment?

Hebrews 12:1-3 and Luke 9:57-62

Read It!

Take the time this week to review Nazareth’s core values. Read the Bible passages associated with each value (the texts are listed on the back of this page):

Holy Discontent – Righting What’s Wrong

Responsiveness – Action, Not Apathy

Relationships – We Are Better Together

Leading Beyond Our Walls – Around the Corner, Around the World

Watch It!

If you have not already done so, sign up for a FREE RightNow Media account by going to https://naz.org/rightnow-media/. What is RightNow Media? Rightnow Media is a way for you and your family to watch and study the Bible right from your living room or from your mobile device. It is the world's largest library of Biblical on-demand video resources available anytime, anywhere. With over 20,000 titles to choose from, there is something for everyone. If you already have a Rightnow Media account, now is the time to gather your family and friends to select a new study for the fall!

Live It!

Be intentional this week about living out these four core values: “Holy Discontent”, “Responsiveness”, “Relationships” and “Leading Beyond Our Walls”. Prayerfully discern how God can strengthen you to be “all in” and to go “all out” for the cause of Christ. Invite someone to join you for a Rightnow Media study, to join you for a cup of coffee so you can share your faith story, and/or to join you at church next Sunday. Finally, if you have not already turned in your 2020 Financial Pledge Form and/or your 2020 Serve Volunteer Commitment Form, make plans to bring them to the Nazareth office this week.

Welcome New Members!

Welcome to 16 new Nazareth Members as they are being

received during worship this morning. Please take a

moment to greet each of them and/or to stop and see their

pictures on the “Welcome to Naz” bulletin board in

Fellowship Hall. Contact information for the new members

will be available at the Welcome Desk. With questions

about membership, please email lori.fegley@naz.org.
