Changes/fixes from 3.1.2.1 to new version 3.2 (03.04.2017)
New Use Cases / System Configurations
- Amberg Survey IMS 1000/3000: With this version the IMS Survey use cases (absolute 3D und
relative) published with version 3.1 are enhanced by a local 3D as-built survey. This means,
that IMS 1000/3000 can also be used, when no control points are available at the beginning
of the measurement. Those will be continuously added, marked and measured during an initial
measurement run, while directly measuring the track in between the control points. The final
result is a local 3D track alignment including control points in the same coordinate system.
From this data a local design can be created, that e.g. can be the basis for future
maintenance tasks. (IMS-1071)
- Amberg Clearance IMS 5000: This version combines the well-proven GRP 5000 System with IMU
technology (AMU 1030). Thereby a high precision, high resolution and high performance 3D
acquisition of track and track surrounding are possible without the use of total station or
GNSS signal. (IMS-617)
General
- 64bit: This is the first version that is compatible with 64bit operating systems. Within
the Clearance application the 3D viewer as a whole and the movie export of the Map view had
to be adapted in this context.
- Windows 10: This is the first version that officially supports Windows 10 operating system.
- Improved runtime in Track view and Track geometry record (TGR) - Opening these editors and
handling of data is significantly faster. (GOX-9278)
- Improved workflows and display of the status of data (GOX-8506)
-- Measurement sequences can be excluded from processing or definitely deleted.
-- In project tree directly beside the measurement sequence there is an indication, if it
has already been pre-processed.
-- In the dialogue for linking jobs it is displayed, if pre-processing is still up-to-date
respectively if all sequences have been pre-processed.
-- In the applications empty data editors are greyed out.
-- Functions, that cannot be executed, are no longer active.
- The zooming window from now on can be freely defined (no longer a fix rectangle) in all
graphical views (except Map view). (GOX-5559)
- Fast access window for Projects and Jobs: There is a new function to activate a fast
access window, which directly after starting AR3.0 indicates the recently used projects in
the main center part of the software. After selecting a project also a measurement job can
directly be started by double-click. The fast access window can be switched on/off via "File
- Options - General". When installing the software on a CF-19 the option is automatically
activated, in order to have fast workflows during field work. (GOX-9961)
Project and Design data
- Design data import: During import it is recognized, which project data elements are
concerned and in case a corresponding tree node is not yet available, it will be created.
Furthermore the warning, that existing data will be overwritten, will only occur, when
already some data has been defined in the corresponding data set. (GOX-9505)
- Display of rel. control points: Beside the absolute control points from now on also
relative control points are displayed in the horizontal alignment editor. (GOX-7549)
- Sleeper editor: In addition to the import format Stationing / Sleeper name the import now
is also possible, when only a list of Sleeper names is given. (IMS-971)

-- Sorting of the table is now possible.
- Jobs with total station: For single point measurement it is now possible to select between
"Standard" and "Fast" measurement mode. In "Standard" mode the high precision single point
measurement will be executed as in the past, which takes some seconds for each measurement.
In "Fast" mode a faster measurement routine will be used, which takes only around 1-2
seconds, but which is also a little bit less accurate. The definition of the mode to be used
is part of the job definition wizard. (GOX-9139)
- Slab Track: In this measurement screen from now on also the horizontal corrections are
displayed separately for both rails. (GOX-7559)

(GOX-6856)
- All jobs using TPS: When measuring the track with total station in continuous (tracking)
mode, depending on the processor load of the CF-19 it could happen in previous versions that
not all coordinates coming from total station could be properly stored, what could result in
smaller gaps for track data. This could be improved by a better handling of incoming total
station data. (GOX-10011)
- All measurement screens now contain battery status information for the different devices.
(GOX-7649)
- Old-style measurement screens for GRP/VMS 3000: Optimized data storage workflows, when

Changes/fixes from 3.1.1.1 to new version 3.1.1.4 (01.09.2016)
-5-
- All jobs using TPS: During optimization of Geocom commands for controlling the total
station, the handling of a target height defined on the total station has changed. In past
versions (before 3.1.1) height definitions were ignored with the used commands so that they
had no influence. Since version 3.1.1 and the usage of updated Geocom commands they have an
influence on continuous track measurements. This means that the definition on the total
station must be set to 0, in order to have no influence on track measurements. If the user
doesn't want to care about that, this new version shall be used, where the target height
setting is changed to 0 automatically by our software. (GOX-9919)
- ProRail KRDZ export: Track measurements can now be exported from Survey - Track view to
KRDZ (ASCII) format according to ProRail (NL) requirements. (GOX-9151)

- IMS 1000/3000 data acquisition: In certain cases the IMS 1000/3000 data acquisition in
last version 3.1.1 shows some inconsistencies, what may result in measurement data that
can't be processed without some manual editing. In this new version the problem is solved
and data acquisition is working properly. We advise all IMS 1000/3000 customers to
immediately switch to this new version. (IMS-845)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and is now more stable, when e.g. import files are unordered, there are gaps in data or
points are outside the defined project axis. (GOX-7826)
- Clearance application - PTS import with measured axis: The PTS import now also works with
the aid of a measured track axis and no longer only, when a track axis is available as part
of the design data. In order to use a measured track axis, this axis must be available in a
defined format at the same location as the PTS files. (GOX-9466)
- Clearance Map view - Encroachment info: With the new function "Encroachment Info" under

be displayed. (GOX-8980/7350/7373)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 3.0.1 to new version 3.0.1.1 (23.11.2015)
- IMS data merging from job to application: The data merging option "Overlap merge" in
software version 3.0.1.1 has been improved in the calculation of track azimuths for IMS
data. This improvement has an influence in cases, where measured gauge has a bigger
difference from design gauge. In case you use this type of merging for the IMS data, please
switch to this new version, where the improved azimuth values are calculated. When using
merge option "Amberg Rail standard" you won't be affected by the changes. (GOX-8894)
- Relative survey - GRP 1000 selection: Now also GRP 1000 can be selected in job wizard for
doing relative survey. (GOX-8943)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 3.0 to new version 3.0.1 (29.10.2015)
- Relative survey module: From this version on it is possible to do a pure relative survey
of the track, which means acquiring just stationing, superelevation and gauge, what in some
cases is sufficient information for a first analysis of the track quality. The corresponding
job type is "Control Point Survey 2D / Relative survey". Within the measurement module
relative track data can be measured in stop&go and kinematic mode either with GRP 1000 or
GRP 3000. (GOX-6397)
- Relative survey - data analysis in TGR: The TGR has been enhanced in order to allow the
analysis of the measured relative track data. All measured parameters as well as some
calculated values like twist can be displayed. If design data (or at least a part of it) is
available also as-built vs. design comparison can be done for these parameters. (GOX-7772)
- IMS 3000 measurement module - support of L-Dist: The IMS 3000 measurement module from now
on supports L-Dist functionality for measuring platforms, neighbour track, overhead wire and
other objects around the track. (GOX-8473)
- Tamping application - Plasser WinALC Export: The export dialogue now allows the export
with more than one track height reference. In cases where the reference isn't known until
shortly before the tamping run, the export doesn't have to be done 3 times any more.

according to Infrabel (BE) definitions have been integrated for clearance analysis. The
envelopes are only available with special licence. (GOX-6772)
- GRP 5000 measurement module - more robust scanner handling: When the scanner is stopped in
the measurement module, the start button from now on will be deactivated until the scanner
has really stopped and sent a corresponding signal. This prevents undefined / weird states,
which made further execution of the application impossible. (GOX-8431)
- Design data - support of LandXML 1.2: With this version we officially support LandXML
version 1.2. (GOX-8139)

properly written to the LandXML file, when doing an export. (GOX-8414)
- Configuration set - asymmetric vertical deviation tolerance: The vertical deviation
tolerance for Ballast track can now be defined differently for negative and positive
deviations. The same for Slab track will follow in next versions. (GOX-7972)
- Validity check of M&S flag: With Amberg Rail 3.0 a new M&S flag has been introduced, in
order to better control the usage of the software. With this version an additional check has
been introduced, which checks the validity of the M&S flag. In case validity is below 3
months, the user will be informed accordingly. (GOX-8556)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.11 to new version 3.0 (19.06.2015)
- IMS 1000/3000 measurement modules: This is the software version that officially supports
data acquisition and evaluation for the new Amberg IMS 1000/3000 systems.
- VMS 1000 measurement module - workflow improvement: In previous software versions the VMS
1000 measurement workflow required the GRP 1000 always to be moved from the end position of
the previous chord to the LP position to start the next chord. This also resulted in a
little gap (2-5m) depending on how close the operator moved towards the TSC. With this
version the GRP 1000 can respectively must stay at the position, where the measurement of
the last chord has been stopped (some meters before TSC) and start from this point for the
next chord. In this way there won't be any gap in the data any more. This new workflow is
also shown in the graphical explanation screens, which are part of the VMS 1000 measurement
module.
-10-
- VMS 1000 measurement module - view chord: After having measured a chord, the user has the
possibility to view this last chord in a special view with horizontal, vertical,
superelevation and gauge deviations. This view has been improved in a way that each graph
now has a title and by clicking into the view, exact values of the current slider position /
stationing are displayed for all 4 graphs.
- VMS 1000 measurement module - precise pointing: After having measured the LP2 with the
TSC, the total station now points more precisely to the prism of the GRP 1000, since the
design axis information is taken into account, when available. If no design data is
available during measurement, the total station will turn by 90°.
- VMS 1000 measurement module - Correction values in working direction: When using VMS 1000
in two-trolley-mode, the correction values shown in real-time on the measurement screen from
this version on refer to working direction. In previous versions they referred to increasing
stationing direction.
- TGR as part of Clearance application: When the Track Geometry Record (TGR) licence is
available on the dongle from now on the editor is also available in the Clearance
application. (GOX-8215)
- GRP 5000 measurement module - check of data stream: The measurement module now controls
incoming scan lines of the scanner and gives a message at the bottom part of the screen,
when a chunk (certain number of successive lines) of lost scan lines is detected. In the
options the user can define the size of a chunk on his own. Chunks of lost scan lines can
occur, when the selected data rate of the scanner is too high for a proper treatment by the
available field computer CF-19 (there are different performance classes of CF-19 depending
on when they have been bought). Please contact us in case of questions in this context.
(GOX-7982)
- Clearance models - multiple envelopes: In the clearance model definition it is now
possible to define up to 4 different envelopes, which will then be displayed at the same
time within the measurement screen and Profile view. For clearance calculations just the
master envelope is used. (GOX-7906)
- Clearance Profile view - baseline filters: Horizontal and vertical baseline filters can
now be defined in the clearance section of the settings dialogue of the Profile view. 2
values for horizontal baselines and 2 for vertical baselines can be defined and furthermore
it can be selected, if points inside or outside the baselines shall be filtered out.
(GOX-6643)
- Clearance Profile view - vertex point clearance distances: In the clearance section of the
settings dialogue of the Profile view there is a new setting "Show envelope vertex
distance". When activating this setting for all vertex points of the clearance envelope
shortest distances to the measured profile are calculated and displayed. Furthermore under
"Export" these vertex clearance values can be exported to a simple ASCII file. (GOX-6641)
- Clearance Profile view - editing profile notes: There is a column "Note" in the Profile
view, which contains notes that the user has entered during measurement. By double-clicking
into such a field, the note can now be edited. (GOX-7964)
- Clearance Profile view - 2D profile export to DXF: When exporting 2D profiles to DXF,
there is a new option to put all profiles into one file. Each profile will be in an
individual layer within the DXF file. (GOX-6647)
- Design data - Toporail HST Import: When right-clicking on the design alignment node within
the tree, the design data can now also be imported from *.hst file.
- Design data - Infrabel CSV Import: When right-clicking on the design alignment node within
the tree, the design data can now also be imported from a *.csv file following Infrabel
specifications. The import is only available, when the design data set contains a relative
horizontal alignment. (GOX-6770)
- Design data - Calculator: New functions ("Import offsets..." and "Point projection...")
have been added to calculate from absolute coordinates to UTC/CTC and vice versa. Both new
functions use the defined leading rail as reference.
- Project data export: In order to export project data including job/measurement data and
application data, the new function "File" -> "Export..." is available. When choosing this
function a dialogue opens, where the user can select jobs, applications and a folder, where
the data shall be exported to. All data in the selected jobs and applications as well as all
design data will be exported then. Optionally the exported data can be compressed to ZIP
-11-
format. (GOX-7002)
- Faster project loading: Loading of projects has been accelerated noticeably. (GOX-8023)
- Rearrangement of context menus: Context menus in the different editors have been
rearranged in order to bring similar functions together. (GOX-7740)
- Rearrangement of Options dialogue: The content of the Options dialogue accessible via
"File" -> "Options..." has been rearranged in order to reduce some pages and make it easier
to handle. (GOX-8162)
- Persistent wizards: All wizards, e.g. Project definition, Job definition, Application
definition, are now persistent, what means that information entered manually or settings
done are remembered and will still be available, when opening the wizards again. (GOX-7117)
- Visible splitter in editors: All editors have already had a splitter between graphic and
table view, but up to now this hasn't really been visible. With this version the splitter is
well visible and can be used more easily. Furthermore the splitter position is remembered,
when closing an editor.
- Display of editors: From time to time there happened an unintended resize of editor
windows, when having several editors open and closing one of them. This problem has been
fixed. (GOX-8176)
- License tool: In menu "Help" there is a new entry "License tool...", which opens a little
dialogue that shows all licenses on the attached dongle. By right-click within the dialogue
c2v-files, which must be sent to Amberg for required updates, can be created and v2c-files,
that contain updates and are sent from Amberg to the client, can be loaded onto the dongle.
(GOX-7312)
- Update of Japanese UI translation.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.10 to new version 2.12.0.11
- Tamping application - Export HARSCO: With this version we support an export of track
correction data to HARSCO tamping machines. (GOX-7876)
- Design data - Verm.esn import: By right-click on a defined design alignment in the tree,
the design data can now also be imported from files *.tra/*.gra/*.kf created by the software
Verm.esn. Select a *.tra (hor. alignment) file to be imported and the software will
automatically search for corresponding *.gra (vert. alignment) and *.kf (control points)
files with the same name in the selected folder and import them as well. (GOX-7973)
- Design data - *.geo (WinALC) export: When doing the *.geo export from the design alignment
node in the tree, the superelevation code is now also correctly exported, when there is no
change at the same location in the horizontal alignment. The *.geo file as part of the
WinALC export from Tamping track view has already been working correctly. (GOX-8085)
- All ASCII imports / exports: The column delimiter for ASCII import and export files can
now be defined in "Options - Preferences - Import / Export". The user can choose between
"TAB" and "Blank". Files to be imported must correspond to the definition so that the import
works properly. (GOX-7801)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.9 to new version 2.12.0.10
- Tamping application - twist in text report: The highlighting of twist values exceeding the
defined tolerances now works correctly again. (GOX-7927)
- TGR - mean-to-peak versine deviation graphs: The TGR contains new graphs, which show a
mean-to-peak analysis for the horizontal and vertical versine deviations. The mathematical
model behind is a simple moving average approach with a user-defined number of measurements
used in the algorithm, which can be set in the TGR settings dialogue. (GOX-7970)
- TGR - twist limits in view: When displaying the twist graph in the graphic view, the
highlighting of values exceeding the negative tolerance border hasn't worked correctly. This
has been fixed in this new version. (GOX-7927)
- TGR - superelevation in graphic report: When using the TGR in connection with a Survey
application and no design data is given, the superelevation in the graphic report is
displayed correctly again. (GOX-7926)
-12-
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.8 to new version 2.12.0.9
- Data acquisition GRP 5000 with Profiler 5033/6012: The laser scanners Amberg Profiler 5033
and Amberg Profiler 6012 provide a different data structure compared to previous laser
scanners, which results in more information per scan point. Additionally these scanners can
measure up to 1'000'000 points per second. These two changes result in a data amount per
second, which is approximately 3 times the amount of the previous scanner models. Based on
experience with many different configurations and having in mind the latest generation of
multicore / multithread processors this new version has been once again optimized in order
to further increase the reliability of the data acquisition, when using the highest data
rate of the latest laser scanners. (GOX-7877)
- GRP 5000 measurement module: The vertical angle filter for scan data during measurement
has been improved so that it can now be defined more flexible around the complete circle of
360°. Especially when using the Profiler 6012 the 2-wheel-part can now be filtered out
properly. Furthermore settings defined in the field will automatically be applied to the
pre-processing settings. (GOX-7808)
- Overlap handling: The data merging option "Overlap handling for single points" from now on
is available for all customers without the need of a special licence. (GOX-7893)
- Copy of existing application: It is now possible to simply make a copy of an existing
application. Just right-click on an existing application and select "Copy". Such a copy also
contains linked design data / clearance model data / projection model data of the original
application. Especially for clearance applications containing scan data this has the
advantage that certain processing steps or also stationing scaling don't have to be done
again compared to creating a new application and merging job data. (GOX-7807)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.7 to new version 2.12.0.8
- All Track views + TGR: Jumping between the measurement points within the Track view / TGR
has been improved in a way that the user can define a step distance in "Options..." ->
"Graphics". When pressing CTRL + up/down keys on keyboard or using the corresponding toolbar
buttons, the measurement point focus jumps by the defined distance (e.g. directly 20 meters
further). When using just up/down key without CTRL functionality, the behaviour is the same
as before, what means that jump goes just one measurement further. (GOX-7665)
- Tamping application - deviation change report: Units in the report header for the
horizontal and vertical deviations have been corrected. (GOX-7666)
- Slab Track application - Text report: An extended report according to customer wishes
called "Deviation report (extended)" has been integrated. (GOX-7664)
- Design data - *.geo (WinALC) export: When right-clicking on the design alignment node
within the tree, the design data can now also be exported to *.geo (WinALC) file. (GOX-7663)
- Clearance Profile view - DXF profile export: DXF profiles are now created in a way that
all information is separated to different layers depending on point codes. (GOX-7662)
- Clearance Profile view - DXF profile export: When selecting CTC as export coordinate
system, profile points as well as clearance envelope are rotated correctly again. When doing
the export in version 2.12.0.5 the profile points are still in UTC, what is wrong in this
case. (GOX-7679)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.4 to new version 2.12.0.5
- VMS 3000 - height quality check: In order to have some feedback about the quality of a
measured chord, during pre-processing (which can happen directly in the field or later in
the office) an additional, optional height quality check is done. This check compares the
track height difference between LP1 and LP2 offset measurement (done with the Profiler 110
FX) with the height difference of the TPS prism measurements when the trolley was placed at
LP1 / LP2. In case of a too big difference (a limit can be set by the user in the Property
window under "Processing checks") between the two height differences, the user will be
informed accordingly. A height difference out of tolerance might have at least following
reasons: 1) Wrong CP selected for LP1 / LP2, 2) Wrong CP measurement by inaccurate/wrong
aiming or badly calibrated P110, 3) CP for any reason has moved and design offset doesn't
fit any more, 4) Wrong vertical offset definition for CP in design data, 5) TPS measurement
inaccurate e.g. due to too long distance/chord. The setting can be switched on/off in the
Property window under "Processing checks". By default it's switched off. (GOX-7325)
- VMS 3000 - stationing check for LP2: A check for possible stationing errors of LP2 has
been introduced. When doing LP2 measurement the check compares the stationing difference as
measured by the odometer since LP1 with the stationing difference coming from LP1 (already
measured) and LP2 design data definition. When the difference exceeds a defined limit, the
user is informed accordingly. Stationing errors may come from incorrectly defined CPs in the
design data set (wrong stationing) or a wrong CP selection during the measurement. (GOX-7337)
- Tamping application - Track view: When doing horizontal or vertical ramp definition in
Track view the zoom/pan setting (e.g. when zoomed in to a specific location) is kept also
when switching between the TABs "Horizontal ramp" and "Vertical ramp". In past versions the
zoom/pan setting got lost as soon as the TAB was switched. (GOX-7327)
- Tamping application - Track view: For marker definition in the office a faster and easier
way has been introduced. After placing the cursor to any stationing, where a marker
(comment) shall be entered, the user can just press the "m" keyboard button. Focus then
directly goes to the comment field of the corresponding measurement and the user can
directly enter a comment and confirm this with enter. (GOX-7330)
- Tamping application - Track view: For horizontal and vertical deviation/correction curves
there is a new setting available to use a dynamic (as up to now) and a fix scale for
display. The new fix scale is used to define a +/- deviation/correction range, which shall
be used for displaying the corresponding curve. In case of peaks that influence the display
in a negative way or when all values are below/above 0, this new setting allows an
individual definition for viewing the data and makes data better readable. The setting is
available in the application wizard and in the Property window. (GOX-7353)
- Tamping application - Export Plasser WinALC: When doing Plasser WinALC export, from now on
directly a certain folder structure is created for the export (as needed for the tamping
machine). A main folder with the name of the application as proposal will be created. In
this main folder 2 sub-folders with names "Geom" and "Versch" will be created, where the
*.geo and *.ver files will be stored. Also these files will automatically get their file
name from the application name. Finally also the machine driver report will automatically be
exported into the main folder. Also this file will get the name of the application. (GOX-7331)
- Tamping application - Export Plasser ALC: When doing Plasser ALC export, from now on
directly a certain folder structure is created for the export (as needed for the tamping
machine). A main folder will be proposed with the name of the application. In this main
folder 2 sub-folders with names "Geom" and "Extver" will be created, where the *.geo and
*.ver files will be stored. Also these files will automatically get their file name from the
application name. Finally also the machine driver report will automatically be exported into
the main folder. Also this file will get the name of the application. (GOX-7329)
- CP Survey 2D job: In the measurement screen of the CP Survey 2D job stationing was not
properly set, when going from CP to CP. This problem has been solved. It just concerned the
stationing displayed on the screen and not stored data, which was always correct. (GOX-7334)
- Design data - gauge editor: The ASCII import for gauge has been improved in the way that
number of decimals to be used for stationing values in the import file is taken from the
-14-
unit definition within the Options. Up to now for stationing just 1 decimal number has been
used. (GOX-7304)
- Design data - superelevation editor: Design superelevation data can now be imported from a
simple ASCII (*.txt) file. (GOX-7326)
- Design data - PAX import: From this version on *.pax design data files can be imported
into the design data set. PAX is a well-known format established by our preceding track
surveying software GRPwin. (GOX-7328)
- Design data - pendular displacement: The pendular displacement option has been introduced
to the horizontal design alignment. When having this function activated the horizontal
alignment is treated in a special way depending on given superelevation. The option can be
switched on/off in the Property window, when clicking on the horizontal alignment in the
tree. By defining a value different from 0 for pendulum length, the function is activated.
The superelevation base, which is the second decisive parameter for the calculation, is
taken from the configuration set. The function corresponds exactly to the solution as
available in our preceding track surveying software GRPwin. (GOX-7335)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.3 to new version 2.12.0.4
- Tamping application wizard: The settings on wizard page "Tamping" are now remembered, what
means that when doing any changes compared to the default settings, these changed settings
will be visible, when creating another application. (GOX-7209)
- Tamping application - new Matisa CATT export: In track view under "Export" the tamping
machine format "Matisa CATT (.catt)" has been added. This is the latest format type
supported by Matisa tamping machines. (GOX-7229)
- Tamping application - synchro point export: When doing "Export synchro points" for WinALC
and DosALC from track view, all measured LPs (laser points of VMS measurement process) will
now be exported as synchro points. (GOX-7231)
- Tamping application - control point editor: The order of the columns of the control point
editor has been adapted to have all information for a certain parameter as a package (e.g.
Measured hor. offset, Design hor. offset, Hor. deviation). (GOX-7274)
- Clearance Profile view - adding profile points: When double-clicking on a profile in
Profile view, the editing mode is reached. In this mode there is a new function, which
allows adding new profile points (that haven't been measured) into the existing profile in
order to improve the shape of the profile in required cases. (GOX-7210)
- Clearance Profile view - overview file: When exporting profiles to ASCII or DXF an
additional overview file is created. Stationing information in this file has now cm
precision. (GOX-7245)
- Clearance Profile view - point connection: In the settings dialogue of the Profile view
there is a new setting called "Only connect profile points". When this is checked only real
profile points (no code or code "Profile point/Single profile point") are connected by the
profile line. All other measured points such as overhead wire, platform edge, etc. won't be
part of the profile line any more, but displayed as single points. This is also valid for
the profile view of the measurement screen. (GOX-7246/7247)
- Design data - Relative control points editor: The new export format *.csv has been
introduced. Such an exported file contains all columns as available in the editor. (GOX-7223)
- Design data - added half sine superelevation ramp: With version 2.12.0.3 we have
introduced "Half sine" as new horizontal design alignment element type. In this version we
have added "Half sine ramp" to the superelevation definition, what gives the possibility to
derive the superelevation automatically from a defined horizontal alignment. (GOX-7275)
- Imperial units: When using unit setting foot + inch small rounding erros depending on
number of displayed digits were eliminated. Example: 104'11.99982 resulted in 104'12.00
instead of 105'00.00) (GOX-7242)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.2 to new version 2.12.0.3
- Clearance application - PTS Import: For clearance applications there is a new function
-15-
"Import PTS point cloud..." available, when right-clicking on the application. This function
allows the import of a PTS point cloud, which contains points with Easting, Northing and
Height coordinates, into the clearance application. The only precondition is that a complete
design data set, which is needed for calculating the 3D point cloud into the track related
system, is defined and linked to the application. Afterwards all standard workflows of the
clearance application can be done. (GOX-7119)
- Design data export to VFT format: For our customers in Czech Republic and Slovakia, we
integrated a design data export to a widely spread format called VFT. This export can be
done by right-click on the design data set, selecting "Export design data..." and choosing
*.vft as export format. In this case all available design data is exported to this format.
When only a certain range of the design data is required, function "Export to VFT..." within
TGR can be used. (GOX-7121)
- Tamping application - Matisa *.cdf export: In track view under "Export" the tamping
machine format "Matisa CATT (.cdf)" has been added. (GOX-7131)
- L-Dist measurement - overhead wire: Overhead wire measurements within the L-Dist
functionality of the measurement modules Tamping 3D, Tamping long chord and CP Survey 2D
from now on are referenced to track centre line for the horizontal offset and no more to the
control point reference as defined in the configuration set. Also in the L-Dist editor on
application level this reference has been changed to track centre line. (GOX-7132)
- Design data - Australian cubic parabola: The horizontal design alignment element type
"Australian cubic parabola" has been introduced. (GOX-7133)
- Design data - Half sine: The horizontal design alignment element type "Half sine" has been
introduced. (GOX-7134)
- VMS 1000 / 3000 measurements: When discarding a chord during measurement, the chord
including the CP measurements from now on is deleted. Up to now the CP measurements were
still available in the application. (GOX-7137)
- Job / Application wizards (1): Finishing page of all wizards has been deleted, since there
was just text information and no more settings to be defined. (GOX-7118)
- Job / Application wizards (2): Also when running Amberg Rail 2.0 on Windows 7 the "Back"
button in the Job and Application wizard now is again beside the "Next" button (as it was
under Windows XP). (GOX-7144)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.1 to new version 2.12.0.2
- Pre-processing all jobs: During pre-processing of all jobs there are now some additional
checks done to check the quality of the data. At the end of pre-processing a message
dialogue will inform the user about success or occurred problems. With the button "View
details" in this dialogue, more information regarding the messaged problems can be found.
(GOX-7033)
- VMS 1000 - target offset application: During LP measurement the user can define target
offsets for cases, where the CP bolt isn't directly visible from the track and a special
target extension has to be used. When using the target offsets, the application of the
offsets already happened correctly for the CP measurement itself, but not for the real-time
track deviation calculation as shown in the measurement screen. This has been fixed with
this version. The mentioned problem just had influence on the real-time results of the track
deviations. All post-processing in the office has already correctly applied such target
offsets, what means that acquired and processed data is not affected by this problem.
(GOX-7032)
- New Application wizard - Type of merging: The settings on wizard page "Type of merging"
are now remembered, what means that when doing any changes compared to the default settings,
these changed settings will be visible, when creating another application. (GOX-7030)
- Tamping Track view / Track Geometry Record (TGR) - CP coloring: From this version on the
CPs shown in the Track view / TGR are colored as follows: green = measured as LP, magenta =
measured as CP, white = not measured. In this way it's easier visible, which CPs have been
measured at all and if yes, in which mode they have been measured (CP or LP). (GOX-6976)
- LandXML design data import: A special handling of LandXML files coming from ProVI software
from Obermeyer has been integrated. With this enhancement azimuths of transitions have
-16-
correct signs. (GOX-7026)
- VMS pre-processing: Pre-processing of VMS data now also supports the parallel offset
option for horizontal track alignment. This means that now VMS systems can also be used in
projects, where a parallel offset has to be defined in connection with the horizontal
alignment. (GOX-7025)
- Tamping track view - WinALC export: It has been found that in certain cases the *.geo file
as part of the WinALC export contained small stationing differences (1-2 cm) for the
exported elements depending on the available measurement data. This inconsistency has been
fixed. (GOX-7023)
- Overlap merge functionality: This version also allows the definition of a "Compensation
length factor" of 0 (zero). The idea behind that is that only the overlapping points shall
be treated (averaged) and no compensation shall be done at all before and after an
overlapping part. (GOX-6929)
- Integration of latest translation of Chinese user interface (GOX-6986)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.12.0.0 to new version 2.12.0.1
- Tamping application: When merging VMS 3000 measurements from a job to an application it
happened in a special customer case that not all measured CPs (control points) were
available in the application. This problem has been fixed, whereby such cases shouldn't
occur any more. (GOX-6939)
- Clearance envelope definition: Clearance shapes, that can be selected when defining an
envelope, are now sorted in alphabetical order in the drop-down list. (GOX-6979)
- Integrated Swedish translation for reports (GOX-6965)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.11.0.7 to new version 2.12.0.0
- Completion of VMS 1000 functionality: detailed information about usage see Tamping Manual
or contact us directly
- TGR as part of Survey application: When the Track Geometry Record (TGR) licence is
available on the dongle from now on the editor is also available in the Survey application
and not only in Tamping and Slabtrack application. (GOX-6920)
- Relative and absolute CP editor: Proper tabulator key usage has been introduced into the
two design data editors. When adding new CPs or editing existing ones, it's now possible to
jump from field to field by pressing tabulator key of the keyboard. In other editors this
has already been working properly. (GOX-6860)
- Clearance application - merging and processing steps: In version 2.11.0.6 (see below) we
introduced the possibility to start several processing steps at once. In this version we
have enhanced the selection dialogue, which can be reached by right-clicking on the
application and selecting "Merge job data and process", that also the data merging step is
part of this dialogue. This means that merging and all main processing steps can be started
at once. Furthermore when processing tasks are finished, a final dialogue will appear, which
gives information about success of each step. (GOX-6822/6815)
- Clearance Map view: The quality of the reflectivity image for scan data has been improved
for all types of supported laser scanners. To see the positive effect for existing processed
data, pre-processing and merging must be done again. (GOX-6908)
- Track view - all applications - interval points: In certain cases track view didn't open,
when display setting was set to "Interval points" for the corresponding application. This
problem has been fixed. (GOX-6928)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.11.0.6 to new version 2.11.0.7
- L-Dist measurements in Tamping measurement screens: If a measurement is not successful the
user is informed that the measurement failed. In old versions the measurement screen froze.
(GOX-6828)
-17-
- LandXML import for design alignments: When importing some types of LandXML the transitions
in the horizontal design alignment did have the wrong start azimuth. This has been fixed.
(GOX-6831/6842)
- Tamping track view: The export of WinALC files in cases where start stationing of
horizontal design alignment element and superelevation element were very similar but not
identical caused problems in the software Win ALC, when opening the *.geo file. This problem
has been fixed by introducing an accepted stationing bandwidth for such cases. (GOX-6871)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.11.0.5 to new version 2.11.0.6
- New project wizard - page 6: Project folder automatically proposed according to entered
project name. (GOX-6742)
- Overlap merge editor: Splitter between graphic and table working properly. (GOX-6688)
- Clearance application - clearance / projection processing: Clearance / projection model
can be added / changed by right-clicking on the application and selecting "Change Models".
(GOX-6743)
- Clearance application: Processing steps "clearance", "projection" and "3D" can now be
started all at once. Right-click on the application and select "Process data" to reach the
corresponding dialogue. (GOX-6803)
- Tamping track view - Text report: Syntax for gauge tolerance made more understandable and
added tolerance information for twist. (GOX-6809)
- Measurement modules - Total station info: When entering a comment for the total station
setup (dialogue "New Setup", field "Comment" below "Setup ID"), this comment is now shown in
the property window, when clicking on a measurement sequence within a measurement job.
(GOX-6813)

opening the track view of the application. This has been fixed. (GOX-6697)
- There were problems with stationing values of measured profiles acquired with Tamping jobs
(Tamping 3D, Long chord, Control point survey 2D). This only happened if only single profile
points have been acquired. This has been fixed now. (GOX-6696)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.10.4.6 to new version 2.11.0.0
- Please see the separate release notes for this main release.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

settings. (GOX-6674)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.10.4.4 to new version 2.10.4.5
- Tamping track view - Text report (1): Changed contents of text report (function "Text
report...") (changed content of header part; deleted data columns: chainage, horizontal
version long, vertical versine long; added data columns: twist, code, comment; added
tolerance values for all shown data columns) (GOX-6467)
- Tamping track view - Text report (2): The export dialogue for the text report now allows
the user to activate the function "Apply defined final elevation to height deviation", which
calculates the height deviation values shown on the report under consideration of the
defined final elevation value. (GOX-6475)

an additional column containing the point number as defined during measurement. (GOX-6476)
- Clearance Profile view: CTC coordinates added to profile ASCII export (function "Export"
-> "Export to ASCII...") (GOX-6465)
- Clearance Profile view: In settings dialogue under "Profile view" -> "Clearance layer" the
default value of the setting "Clearance minimum distance" has been changed from "0" to
"-10". In this way it's guaranteed that all infringements will be visible by default.
(GOX-6466)
- Clearance shapes: Import of shapes in DXF format correct, when unit settings are feet.
(GOX-6493)
- Survey Track view: In DXF, ASCII, LandXML and LandXML (as design) export dialogues there
is a new option that allows to export the height of the lower rail together with track
centre line position. This can be interesting in case no leading rail definition is
available. (GOX-6464)
- Height reduction for ASCII export (see also version 2.10.4.3 below): The export option has
-19-
been moved directly to the corresponding export dialogues. It gets visible, when clicking on
the "+" symbol in the dialogue. (GOX-6462)
- Dutch translation of user interface available now (GOX-6605)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.10.4.3 to new version 2.10.4.4

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes/fixes from 2.10.4.2 to new version 2.10.4.3
- SlabTrack track view: On text report only deviation fields (and not measured values any
more) will be marked with red background color, if values are out of defined tolerance.
(GOX-6412)
- Tamping chord method job: In the options dialogue (File --> Options...) under
"Preferences" - "Measurement Settings" there is a new setting called "Measurement processing
settings", which allows tamping chord method users to switch on-site pre-processing on or
off. By default the processing is switched on. Switching off reduces waiting time in the
field (e.g. when starting the next chord), but brings also the risk that users don't have a
complete feedback, whether the measurement has been completely successful or not. (GOX-6403)
- Height reduction for ASCII export: In the options dialogue (File --> Options...) under
"Preferences" - "Import / Export" there is a new setting called "ASCII export height
reduction". With this setting, which is switched off by default, the user can define a
height value, by which the absolute track axis height will be reduced (perpendicular to top
of rail), when doing an ASCII export from the track view of the Tamping and Survey
application. In countries, where the height reference isn't top of rail, but somewhere below
(e.g. bottom of the rail), this setting can be used to export the correct height
coordinates. (GOX-6290)
- Clearance Map view: ASCII export of running track now contains superelevation calculated
under consideration of superelevation base defined in the configuration set. (GOX-6262)
- Adapted some Czech UI translations. (GOX-6406)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Support of Amberg Profiler 6012: With this software version the new Amberg Profiler 6012,
which can measure with up to 200 rotations per second, is supported. The only restriction
for the moment is a data rate of max. 500'000 points per second. Support of a data rate of
1'000'000 points per second is in development, but not yet functional. (GOX-6256)
- Import / Transfer of absolute CPs to relative CP editor: Now it is possible within the
