NOW IMAGINE…

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations…Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. (Matthew 28)

WHY DISCIPLE

• Population: 26 Million (2M migrants)

• 40 Minorities (over 60,000)

• 30 Chinese Churches, 5 Int’l Fellowships

DISCIPLES ARE AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST

Go and clean your room!

MEMORIZE IT STUDY IT

KNOW IT GREEK

How many of us would…

But not really GO and CLEAN

And he said to them, “Follow me,

and I will make you fishers of men.”

Matt 4:19

Immediately they left their nets and followed him.

Matt 4:20

In Matthew 28:18-20, we are commanded to make disciples. Jesus said “go into the world and make disciples”. He didn’t say “go into the world and make fellowships, potlucks, or Sunday school...”

Because Jesus Did It Study the Gospels and while Christ ministered for three years to masses of people, He spent his time with twelve men and took them everywhere with Him, taught them, trained them, and invested His life into them. They caught the life of Christ by spending time with Him.

WHY NOT DISCIPLE

1. Difficult/Messy 2. Takes time 3. No finish line 4. It causes growth 5. Not trained

REASONS NOT TO:

And he said to them, “Follow me, and I

will make you fishers of men.”

Where am I…

Can we disobey and still walk towards God?

WE CAN ONLY WALK IN ONE DIRECTION…

Self Evaluation

GOOD TREE-GOOD FRUIT

There’s the reason you tell your classmates. There’s the reason you tell your church. There’s the reason you tell your friends. There’s the reason you tell your family. There’s the reason you tell yourself. And there’s the reason you tell God

BE HONEST…

A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. (Matthew 7)

GOOD TREE-GOOD FRUIT

Biologically- a tree must reproduce. If it is not, then something is wrong with the tree…

Disciples: walk by faith communicate their faith multiply their faith

Accountability Questions (Barnabas) 1) How has God blessed you this week 2) Have you read God's Word this week (why not) 3) Describe your prayers (for yourself, others, praise, confession) 4) How is your relationship with Christ changing (towards or away) 5) What are you wrestling with in your thought life 6) How is it going with your friends/family 7) Have you shared your faith (why not) 8) How have you been tempted this week (how did you respond

Four Things to Do with Your Disciples

1. Build a relationship 2. Renew a disciple’s mind with the Word

3. Train and involve them in ministry

4. Pray for them

(all of this takes time and it’s inconvenient )
